I am seven months pregnant and I always experienced heartburn. I know this is normal for a pregnant woman however I just want to know if there is a way on how to minimize this because I always catch my breath especially I am a teacher in History of which this subject needs extra effort to discuss well. Will you please give me some tips on how I can overcome this?

hi desheree oh it was a long time back but I remember morningsickness and heart burn too. When tums did not help I would take a good half teaspoonful of plain ordinary baking soda in a half glass of water and between that and the tums it would clear up my heartburn at once. If this does not help I would see my ob gyn and get more help as there may be something you can take that will alleviate your heartburn but still not'
harm your baby to be.good luck and God bless.

Hi, desheree17. Congratulations and welcome to myLot! I would say that you should limit any heavy eating late in the nights. And, don't eat too may fatty and spicy foods. Also you should be able to take some plain tums while you are pregnant too. I could when I was pregnant several years ago. I hope that you will feel better. Unfortunately, heart burn comes along with the package when you are pregnant. It is a part of your hormones going into affect. Drinking clear fluids should help too. Take care. I had a bad case of Acid Indigestion when I was pregnant, oh how I hated it!
