I would love to know if you found a lot of letters that your parents had written to each other many years ago, in your attic, or anywhere else for that matter, would you read them?
Before my husband and I got married he was in the forces and we used to write to each other daily. We kept all the letters and they were in our attic.
They are now 30 odd years old and when I found them this week, although nothing wrong written in them I dont want anyone else reading these personal letters. There are 100s of them! So I have kept a random 3 and shredded the rest.
I would love to say my children would not even have attempted to read them but, it is human nature isnt it to have a peep.
Have you kept old letters? and what have you done with them?

Many years ago I found some old letters that my parents had written. The letters were in attic and I found them while I was still living at home. I gave them to my mother, she made it very clear that she didn't want me to read them, and I understand that. I don't want people to read my old letters either. I haven't kept all of my old letters. I used to write and receive a lot of letters, and I have moved many times, so I couldn't keep everything, but I have kept some of the most important ones from old friends etc. I keep them in a box in our storage room.

If I were to find some old family letters written between my parents, i would be quite curious to read them. Sometimes old letters let you see a different side to someone. It may seem like a lack of privacy to those who wrote the letters, but these letters could contain memories that should be shared and cherished. i would definitely give them a read. After all, they were written by the people who brought me into this world.

Lucky you MAllen.
What a treasure you have with you. I have just two letters that my grandfather wrote to me some 20 years back. They are the most prized possessions that I have with me. I remember my grandparents bringing me up and I miss them a lot. Whenever I am down and feeling lonely, I read them out. They not only refresh me but also sort of connect me to my childhood days when everything was so lovely and peaceful.

I think my mom and dad don't have those kind of thing I never see them teasing each other when they remember their past so I guess they don't have something like that and we only rent a house our last house was destroyed by typhoon and we lost a lot of things that time.
Well if there is possibility that I found something like that I think I am going to read it and know what's with them when they are young and don't have responsibility in a child
That would be the most interesting thing to read and I think its more than interesting than reading the book of twilight saga or harry potter for me because its the life of my parents.
and in my case I keep my letters but I am not that focus on those kind of doings unlike my girlfriend who are so interested on keeping thing we had and our photos I guess its normal to girls to do that because I don't know hahaha.
I am not a girl after all.

Ya definitely I will keep all old letters because it is a life time memory. We can't destroy them. But If I found such letters I will never try to read a single letter. We don't have any rights to know anything in others personal life.
