One of the most influential economic analyst and life coach Robert Kiyosaki, has demonstrated a 4 quadrant model of all the people that are currently working. He said that the E or the first quadrant are the people who are Employees and works to earn a salary, the second is the S quadrant or the people involved in Sales where they need to sell to in order to make a living. The B quadrant or the Big Business owners and the I quadrant which made up of Investors. He said that it is possible to shift from one quadrant to another and you may co-exists in all quadrant at the same time. The most common example for this is Oprah, she owns the "Harpo" Productions as an employer and at the same time being the star employee of her employment.
Do you think its possible to be an Employee and Employer at the same time?
What is your opinion?

Of course, a lot of people do more than one thing at the same time, or switch from one thing to another. It makes perfect sense to me. I love Robert Kiyosaki by the way, which book was this in? I want to read more about this!

yes..i think its possible.
if a person has his/her own business then he is an employer but one also needs to know the job, hands-on.
and that would make him an employee of his own business.
i think that this is also good to show that you care about your people. it also shows that you want to know what they go through so when they come to you for a concern, you would really be the right person to consult because you know what they need. :)
these quadrants..they all boil down to providing commodities for consumers. and with that thought in mind, you are being an employee of your clients. requiring you to render work or supply goods. an employer because you provide jobs for other people..
its a cycle..i could go on and on with the same thought in mind..hehe

Hi incus,
People play different roles at different times and there are many who are playing the roles of Employee and Employer at the same time. What is needed is just a co-ordination and some luck of not getting caught by your employer. In india, there are many people who work for organizations at the day time and during the other time they are running their own businesses and some are quite successful and doing it for over long many years.
