The unemployment rate of India was 7.32 in December of 2000. Its growing only and no sign of decrease. Being young generation, i want to know what are the choices to get employed. Guys find very hard to get settle in good job to get settle in life.
Every where long queues for interviews. Even im one among them once. I spent 6 months in search of good job (Not! for one job with salary to manage my expense) and end up with a job which is not for my qualification with less salary. After 6 months i settled in decent job with good package now.
Unfortunateluy not everyone getting good job. So what can be done to improve employment? Senior, experienced people here are welcome to share your thoughts.

Hi shineveramya, welcome to mylot great friendship community.
How can you say that the unemployment rate in india is 7.32%?
Every young indian must study very well, and should improve communication skills, and not only wait for a job, he/she should try make as enterprenuers.
I think this results good..........
All the best ramya....

Hi Ramesh,
According to the survey i've provided that percentage.
I agree we should improve our skills to get good job. But many people who are with good skillset are also unemployed still because of lack of openings. Becoming enterprenuers is not a simple job. Need proper guidance, money. Already without practical education lot of students suffering.

Why should i improve my communication skills by speaking a foreign language(Visitor's Language)?
They have left the country, so their language should have gone out, but it's still inside..
I can speak my regional language in an efficient way and my national language in a good way..
Why should i consider other languages which doesn't belong to my own country?
I have a solution, why do u look for foreign projects?
Why don't u take up your projects?
Why don't Indian companies start up and do projects for the country and also it could improve the country's status..
Why don't u give a try to design a motherboard and manufacture ? I meant a new mother board..
Why are u relying on Intel ?
Why don't u create your own? Why don't u manufacture?

Hi Gunagohan,
I want to share what i know. India is servicing country and not manufacturing more. With the advantage of population we started to service others. It become our major job now.
Even inside India we've lot of languages. So learning English is unavoidable to interact with everyone.
And next thing we rely on service. As i told we're concentrating more on servicing like Callcenter, BPO. KPO... Even i've desire to use our skillset to improve our country instead of spending it to develop other countries. But im not clear why more enterpreneurs are not rising in our country.

I don't know what are the best solution to India but in Malaysia also, the graduates from universities and college are hard to find jobs in their field.
Some end up with low salary and different jobs. There are even doctors who can't find a job just because they graduate from local universities. I mean government one.
As for attending interviews, everyone must do their best to tackle their employer. Always remind yourself this is the last interviews you are going to attend and you will succeed.
Another solution is why don't Indians start up their own business even if it is small you can do slowly until you get the money and moved up?

Attract the employers??
This is second thing..
First thing, we should have the desired skills!!
I meant clearing the maths round or Aptitude Round..
Once u clear the first round, then u are 50% inside the job..
Only a few companies will ask for more skills..

Yes. I accept. For IT field, clearing aptitude round is enough. Its like nearly we got job. But in common good interpersonal skills, confident, clear speech, with good general knowledge and at the same time knowledge about the field we applied job is necessary.

Since your main concern is your countrymen, I think the best thing to do is to prioritize first Indians in giving job than foreigners. Lots of non Indians might have visited your country and applied for job, giving less priority to Indians. Actually, this problem isn't only in India. It is everywhere as job cut is increasing, even in US.. be blessed shineveramya! :)

Hi attente,
Your idea may work out. Prioritise Indians in India. Sounds good. But it wont help fully to solve unemployment. Not that much foreigners working here.

well am not sure, its just that people dont try or maybe they lost their will to achieve success. every people in this world is suitable in one job or the other, its only that people should be willing to devote for it. i agree not all people have that privilege even if they posses those good qualities for a nice job. all i can say is run along the fate and move on in life.

Hi Fireheart,
Yes. I agree if we're well talented, we can get job sure. The thing is it is not mean that the educated and average skilled people are not eligible for job. But most talented people only can get job here easily. All others compromising themself with whatever they g etting and even someone not getting any job too.

The best way to get over this problem is that the government must play an active and practicle and cooperate with the private sector. How many jobs you alone can offer to people???
You can see that a large number of qualified people is looking for jobs and a many positions are available in various government institutions and department but government is not hiring people. Why the government is not hiring people???
I think India needs a government of a party of Right. Yes, a party that look after and care for the people's motives instead of chairs and personal regards. So, you've to wait for that good time.

Yes. With the help of government only we can get job. But they taking this for politics. Blaming opponent party in the election time. And giving promises more and after got elected forget promises once again.
IT parks, Biotech parks are good to see. How much private sector persons can hire. As my dad is working in state government , i know they getting works with limited people and even though there is need of people not hiring anymore.

Tell the richest people in India to give jobs to unemployed citizens there. I think that is one great solution because rich people are called rich because they have so much money. Ask them to make new companies and corporations that can benefit them and the unemployed individuals in India.

Hi criz,
I can understand that rich people can start business. But only with money we cannot do everything. Starting manufacturing unit, or small company needs more guidance, experience and also none want to lose their money. So i think government can encourage people and give guidance who are willing to start business and company.

There is no way to improve this, unless the visitors are given less priority than the home folks..
Well, in my case, i completed my Engineering at the month the may and i'm still waiting for a job..
Where ever i go, there is a long competition and the expectation is very high..
I cleared the technical aptitude of a company and during the next round, they asked me more..
I'm a fresher, i have no idea on what they are asking..
The project manager asked me questions for more than 45 minutes, later they sent me a mail that i'm not a fit guy for their project...
I should have replied them, telling what do u expect from a Fresher??
U just see, i'm an ECE graduate and i answered more questions in C, C++, they expect more from an electronics student..
They should have told me in the beginning that they are not gonna recruit me..
There is a perfect solution available for this..
Just scrap Engineering and take up other courses available like textiles, chemicals, physics , maths ..
Be a science graduate and explore the world..
Take up hotel Management..
The reason why unemployement is high is, we need professional career, almost everybody need a professional career..
I don't know when i'm gonna get a job..

Very sad to hear you Gunagohan. Dont lose your hope. Dont wait long for the job that fits your qualification. Try your best to get your dream job for 4 to 6 months. After that accept whatever comes in your way. Even Im IT Post graduate. End up with BPO job. Waiting for my time to come. But dont give up. Continue your efforts side by side. Keep in touch with your friends. Get updates in your field.
Definitely you'll get your job. All the best.

I have seen people waiting so many months or even years after their studies for the right job. While it might work for some, it is always not advisable to wait for so long for a job. Take whatever comes your way and before you know it, you would have completed at least six months and gained experience. You would be in a better position to land a good job with decent salary with a few months or years of experience. A very important factor which employers look for is stability and consistency. If you stay unemployed for a long time, it will not look good on your resume.

Hi Vijay,
I've same thought. If we wait for our dream job, we will wait ever. We should accept whatever comes in the way and should work hard to get our job later.

Unemployement has been a major problem among young Indians. There are thousands of young who do not have a job & lakhs of people are not in the right kind of job, just because there are no openings for the job in which they are specialize. The huge population explosion is a main reason for growing unemployment.
Industries & the government should work towards creating more & more jobs to kill the problem of growing unemployment. At the same time, the proper control has to be taken to control the explosion of population.
