Facebook madness in the workplace

Anyway, my hours at work make me miserable. But that's not why I'm writing this. The reason is, I happen to notice that people are frequently asking for my facebook account in my office. And whenever I say I don't have one, they would look at me like I'mn from outer space.
Don't get me wrong, I DO have an account (and people, don't ask me for it okay..LOL). It's just that I don't like giving it out to people I don't really know. Now, what I don't understand is, what is it with facebook that people are so crazy about? Some of my co workers are also so obsessed with thier accounts that they continually check on it and make changes.
There was a time when two of my agents fought over thier facebook accounts because they couldn't decide whose account is prettier and better. Talk about fighting over small things...

I feel the same as you regarding Facebook. I have an account but never use it. I don't see what the big fuss is all about. If I want to chat to a friend I can send a text message or I can email, or I can call them or I can Skype them (If they have Skype) or I could get in my car and actually visit them or meet them at a club or pub or we could get together for a weekend.
I actually find that Facebook wastes a lot of precious work time.

I know your situation Desrie. In my university everyone is crazy about Facebook. I can see most of the students are using Facebook in the computer lab, I thought those computer are only for academic use but can even see the officer in the library also playing Facebook mini game...lol. I use Facebook just to keep contact with my old friends from far away. Seriously, spending too much time on Facebook is kind of waste, I rather go to some forum or sharing website at least I can gain some knowledge or information from there. Perhaps people wasting their time on games, we could already earning money from the internet.
