The Story Behind You and Your Lovedone's Song

Most people in relationships kind of have a song that is "Theres." What is yours and what is the story behind how it came to be your song? Our song is Only Hope, from A Walk To Remember. I hadn't seen him in months and when I went to his graduation party I sang that song, not realizing how fitting the words were. It became our song because of the meaningful lyrics and because of the memory of me singing and him playing piano for the song that night.

Our song is "Bubbly" by Colbie Caillat. I had gone to visit some family for two weeks over Easter break and although we had only been together for a short while, we were completely in love and this was the longest we hadn't seen each other. We really missed each other and then one day when we were particularly missing each other I told him to listen to this song and then he made me a video for this song. I still have that video and watch it every now and then.

I think ours would be “Someone to Watch Over Me”. It started from a Red Dwarf episode and it was a silly joke between us, but it came to be much more meaningful. I love listening to Ella Fitzgerald’s version with my partner. Sometimes we dance to it together. I also like it when we sing “You Are My Sunshine” to each other.
