I just wonder what is the symptoms that indicate it is time to change the brake pad? Please give me some advise on this one from your own personal experience? Whether it is when you hear the squeaking noise when you hit the brake on the road, or something else? I just wonder how other people so smart, they knew it is good time to change the brake pads.

Brake pads squeak when they're worn out, but sometimes they squeak because of other reasons. The best way to know if brake pads need changing is to visually check them regularly (during tune-ups or oil changes).
On most cars, you'll know the rear brake pads are worn out if you can pull the e-brake lever farther than usual.
