Don't you just hate it when you're talking to someone who has a headset on? I mean you are together, walking and he just can't live without his headset on. You want to ask him a question and he would ask you to repeat the question because he didn't quite get it since he is listening to this music. I hate it. Don't you?

When he or she is someone I always hang out with, maybe I would not mind. But if he oe she is someone I just happened to be with at that certain time and yet he wouldnt take off the headset, I would surely feel bad. i think it's a sign of disrespect.

I think it's really a form of disrespect specially when you're talking and the person pretends that he is listening when he really can't hear you.

I honestly hate it as well. I don't see why people need to be attuned to music all the time. I mean, I don't think it's healthy for our ears to be unders such stress all the time. Further, it causes lots of accidents because you are blocking your ears (senses) to what is happening. There are cases of people getting into accidents because they didn't see (nor hear) someone running or a vehicle on their way. I find it offending too when I'm talking to someone and they're listening to music. It somehow gives me an idea or a hint that they don't really want to talk. Thus, blocking our proper communication.

Hi caliya, Yes, I do think it is rude of a person who is in your company, but they continue wearing the headset. It is as if they are letting you know that they don't want to engage in a conversation. If this is a habit of your friend's, then you shouldn't be surprised at the behavior. what can you do if they would rather listen to their music instead of listening to what you have to say? You can get angry, if that would do any good, you could ask them to turn off their music. You really only have a few options. So, you will have to decide what you want to do about your friend who'd rather listen to music than to your conversation.

If it was my boyfriend/ the man in my life, I would not tolerate it. Set standards. For example, if this is "we" time, then he really is not into you. I not being rude, but if you are together walking of course you may want to talk. Either he does not understand, or it is intentional. On the other hand, If you are walking for exercise, then that is what it is. Even when I walk with my female friends for exercise, they want to talk, so I only wear my headset when I am alone. Tell him how you feel. If he does not change his behavior, then you will know for certain.

yeah, when that happens, i just don't talk to the person because i don't like repeating myself over and over again. i do wear a headset too, and i usually have music on but when i'm with someone else, i do the polite thing and turn it off. so that i can give my full attention to that person.

I hate it too. It's really annoying. I hate it even more when that person shouts because he thinks he has to shout over the noise My father has just found his old ipod the other day and he is wearing it again. It honestly irritates me since he could not hear well with it on and he shouts.

No sense talking to people who would rather spend their entire life shutting other people out. Go find yourself someone else to talk to.

That is me.. but i don't wear it on much when my friends are around. I only wear it when they seem to be busy with some other thing.

Although it's quite annoying, I just ignore it. I have to understand the person because I too do that sometimes. I mean, I can't avoid that situation either. Haha. Well in my case, I mostly hear what the other person is saying even if I listen to music so it's just okay. Good day :)

True! It annoys me! I mean, don't they know that it's rude to listen to music while speaking to someone? You should always pay attention to the one you're talking to. Why can't they just say that, 'hey, can we talk later? I'm kinda listening to music.' It wouldn't be really nice, but it's better than speak with someone and you couldn't understand each other just because you're not paying attention.

Any headset is irritating, especially when they start humming or talking in public. Sometimes I think they are talking to me and I feel dumb when I ask "What?" I hate those blue tooths as well because people look as if they are having a conversation with themselves.

Yeah, its a bit of annoying. But funny thing is I'm the one who's like that. I hate wearing headsets but when I travel, I always do. Me and my partner travels a lot, we love going to places. Mostly are just 3-4 hour drive. Well after talking to each other, I will then put my headsets on. Then after few minutes, he'll talk to me again and I then I would not be able to hear him. This has happened a lot of times already. He'll get pissed then would not continue what he was asking/talking if I ask him again lol.

I hate the situation too, when I talked my friend who always wear her head on, and don't devote her mind to listen me, it's so confused why she often wear the head on. Sometime I think it's not a good manner to wear a head on when others want to and try to talk with you.
