I think you're right, but if we can count aspirine and painkillers as a medicine.
I know a few years back I was barely ever sick, but now I think even if you're healthy as a fish there'll still come time every once in awhile you'll have to take a medicine. A few people may be lucky tho to be healthy and not have to take any meds.

I know, right? I myself considers my own self healthy. But it doesn't mean I haven't taken any medicine at all. It's like a part of life now..

yup, same goes for me. I figured the more we age, the more it becomes like a routine to take a medicine every once in awhile, cause I remember when I was younger I was barely taking any meds, if at all, ever.

I for that matter strive not to take any medicine especially if the illness I have is only minimal or shall we say ordinary. When I felt cold, flu or got some fever I will just let my body rest and after that I will be okay. Sometimes when we have some minor illness we can actually cure ourselves with out taking any medicines by instructing your mind to get over with it.
That kind of tactics works well with me and I think every year I can only take 1 to 5 medicines per year. Medicines can actually harm your body because of the side effects in the long run. It may cure you today but it will create more serious health problems in the near future.

That is true... But that still means that you can't live a lifetime without taking medicines...

I've been lucky in that I am a generally healthy person. However, I've not been through my life to this date without taking a single medication. It is a part of human nature to get sick from time to time and to have to take antibiotics. Plus, if you want to get technical, the vaccinations that we receive during our lives could also be considered to be medication as well. If a person tried to go through their lives without medication, then I think that their lifetime would be a very short life.

Yeah. Some people can dare try to live without having any medications or vaccines, yet when they get sick, it was really a deadly one. Medications are not always for those who are sick and unhealthy. We all need to take some once in a while to keep and prevent us from any sickness or diseases.

i hate to take medicine prescribed by a doctor or not.i don't know why as when i fell sick i like to let my body to cure it in natural way.it takes time longer than you go see the doctor and have the medicine. but honestly, even i hate it a lot i still need medicines to cure my illness.so i would say we can't survive without taking ANY medicines at all.

Yeah... I don't really like taking medicines at all, too. But in one way or another, sometimes, we are just forced to.

I am sure you can, I mean, before modern times people did not take medicines like we do today, and they were fine. These days we live longer because we do have more medicines though, so it all depends on how you look at it...

Yes, we can... IF we only live during the days they were living. I mean, look how far we've come today. A lot of things have change. Even the foods we eat, have some chemicals in them that may lead us into being sick...maybe not now. But maybe someday..

I think we can live a lifetime without the support of chemical medicines. Come to think of our fore-fathers - no medicine, no doctors, no hospital, and yet they lived long and strong enough for their age. When they got ill, they just gather herbs in their farms or in the woods and cure their illnesses on their own. If we can only change our lifestyle like our ancestors . . .

At one point, I agree with you. Our forefathers survived their lifetimes without having to drink, chew or eat any kind of medicines. However, I don't think it will be really possible nowadays. We've gone too far from the kind of living our forefathers have. We may try not to, but it will be very hard. Unless you live in mountains or remote area, you will always have to experience something wrong in your body that will force you to drink medicines. Besides, even herbs now are being mixed into medicines...

hi invisiblelady yes I do agree as I remember various times when I had the flu I had to see the doctor as I have a habit of flu going into bacterial bronchitis and getting very ill from it.so as I am a diabetic they always shoot me full of antibiotics so I will not go into bronchitis at all. Even in my childhood there were times when I need antibiotics for some infection or something else. So even very healthy people at times must take some medication. I am not much in to holistic medicine as I come from a family of medical people.

Ohh I think it's not really easy to undergo on such conditions where you have to always take medicines. In my family, my mom and younger brother were the only ones who suffered from some chronic diseases. I hope you get well, dear Hatley.

I don't think so. We all need an antibiotic at least once in our lives. I am sure there are some people who hardly ever get sick. Or that never take medicine. But most of us at least once get an ear infection or other common infection that needs antibiotics.

That's exactly what I'm thinking about. All of us would really undergo such condition where we needed to take some meds.

Yes. Some form of medicine is indispensable for any human being. I think, even the so called infinitesimal percentage of healthy people not having used any medicine, must be using some kind of extracts having medicinal values.

I agree with you. We all take any kind of medicines, in any form, once in a while. It doesn't mean it has to be in fluids, tablets or capsules. There are new made medicines now which we can hardly notice as medicines....

I Think we need Medicines when our antibodies cells is unable to fight against the Diseases which prevails in our Body due to some harmful Intakes in our Diet and Started making its effect in our Body.Medicines is a temporary cure for any Diseases.Everyone in their Life faces Illness at some point of time due to lot of unhygenic Food taken by the People is the General Cause. Moreover there are many Spreading Diseases available that If Don't Care it Just catch you too and Affects your Health.Well towards your Question that Can Anyone Survive lifetime without taking medicines the answer is Yes!Man Can Survive If he Possess WBC means White Blood Cells. The Human being Possess WBC in their Body remains untouched by the Diseases at all.As Science Prove WBC are the Best Antibodies Cells which fight efficiently and Protect Bodies from any kind of Disease. But the General Problem we all have that we all Generally have RBC(Red Blood Cells) in our Body.Only Few of the Persons in the World God Gifted produced WBC in their Bodies.

Thanks for a very descriptive comment, friend. We really need to take medicines once in a while. To prevent from getting sick, to fight against it and to eliminate it from our body.

It's hard for anyone in this modern days to survive his/her lifetime without taking any medicines. The hazardous smokes from open burning, and also as secondary smokers contribute to some medical condition which requires medicines when long enough exposed. Also, polluted content of waters which fill with chemicals (the chemicals for water treatments and polluted content from dumps) also produce some medical complications for us. Well, without taking any medicines at all in a lifetime, it's impossible.

You are right. In our everyday living, we are always prone to any kind of sickness and diseases. The modern days have gone so far and it's not easy to stay healthy all the time. There will always be pollutions.... And even the food we eat are sometimes injected with some chemicals that may be hazardous to our physical body. We may not notice it now, but this chemicals are destroying our body slowly. We need to be careful.
