Have you ever win the lottery?

Last week, I read an article about who won the lottery in U.S. and eventually they were poor. They don't know spending money appropriately. Some people use that money to buy clothes, parties and beauty surgery. Someone use all the money on social activities and then nothing..... So, what would you do if you won the lottery with a large money (hundreds of millions dollars)?

Hehe, yeah that's actually a large problem for many high level winners. Immediately, they go out and buy a car such as a Ferrari or something, but they fail to forget that those cost far more to maintain and keep on the road than something like you mentioned. And by the time they go out and spend money on things like a larger house which also have residual bills that will be higher, they find they can no longer meet the payments. Another problem is many don't realize that if they want the larger sum of winnings, most likely they'll need to accept it over a long period of time, say over 50 years. Immediately, the go out and spend the money and people are gladly giving them loans, but they quickly create more debt per month than what they bring in. Technically, given a few years they could probably pay those debts off, but interest and missed payments begin to rise. Suddenly, people win a million dollars and they're millionaires, when in my opinion, a millionaire EARNS millions each year, not wins a once in a lifetime lottery. So, they feel like millionaires and think they can spend like millionaires. Now, I do know of people (not personally) that have won 250million and then they can pretty much do as they see fit because it's so difficult to use all that money in a lifetime even for high level spending.

If anyone on here won the the lottery, do you think that anyone would be on mylot? Anyway, if I did win the lottery I would give some of the money to JDRF and to AAFA. I would also use some of that money to buy a new home equipped with the technology that I need.

I have never won the lottery. I usually buy them. But I do have heard a some people winning it big. Well, if ever, I won a lottery which such big amount I will surely buy something for my family. A big house and the comforts of life. But then of course, I will also make use of the money to share my blessings. Perhaps starting out with some foundation to help the poor... education or livelihood perhaps. Well, there is nothing to lose win you dream right? Maybe one day, such dream would happen. But I have to buy the lottery first for that dream to be fulfilled.

Hi, I wish I have that LUCK one day...Have been buying lottery for about a year, but so far, no Luck yet. If I were to strick a lottery one day,it is basically depend on the amount that I am getting. If not really a big amount, then I will spent on necessary stuffs like house renovation and do some donation for charities. At least, I am getting some LUCK and I am sharing my LUCK with others especially those people who needs a help.

Hi octopus. Yes, I remember having won a table clock sometime when I was at the college. That was the only time that I was lucky to win at a lottery. No other financial victories for me. The funny part is that the guy who sold me the ticket was too confident that I would win the first prize (a bike) and I was confident of losing. So I had told the seller(also one of my friends) that if I win anything, I would gift it to you. You will have to collect it from the counter. I kept my promise and gave the ticket to him after I came to know that I had won the Table Clock. He and I went to collect it. He has still kept the clock at his shop and still shows and tells stories of this incident to his customers!

Lottery betting in Asia treated as investment. The more they bet it's just like investing to earn results when winning them. In the Western world, I don't know but I heard most Westerners think of lottery betting is kind of waste in money. For me, I hardly bet on the lottery, and never win one. Cause I learn that, money earned by hard work and no short cut towards prosperity.

if i were to win the lottery, i would pay all my parent's debts, i'll start a small business maybe, invest some of it on real estate, buy things for my parents and for myself. I'll set aside some of it in the bank and donate a part of it to charity :)

I always day dreaming of winning big via winning the lottery. However, I have not make the first move of buying one The first thing I will do is purchase the holiday package to South America with my family. It is the best I can think of at this moment. I will also contribute some to charity, some portions put in the fixed deposit to earn interest so that I will have fixed monthly income. No need to worry about looking for a 9-5 job. A certain percentage I will invest in the stock market. Not forgetting buying a service condominium with jacuzzi in it
