i've had some subjects that i felt very sleepy and i even slept once in front of my professor. i was very ashamed when she caught me and called my attention. i never thought as well that i would be doing that. i just couldn't help my eyes to close at that time. the weather was hot and humid and the class was at siesta time (after lunch). my sickness to getting sleepy after lunch. well, i had these occasions but i think it was not more than 10. as this one occasion i am able to recall clearly. primarily, if the topic was just a lecture and there is no discussion between the instructor and the students, i fall sleepy.

There were many times where I feel like nodding off. Mostly because there was a teacher who just continued to drone on forever and ever, without ever bothering to stop and take a breath. That monotone voice that goes on forever and ever, and if the class was in the morning, then it was so much worse, because I was bit tired to begin with.
Humidity never helped. Then again, some of the class rooms were hot in the hot months and bitterly cold in the colder months. Both extremes did make me sleepy all things considered. It really made me want to kick back and just go to sleep. Instead, it was time to go to school and it was extremely frustrating. Some of those lectures were really unbearable without the time of the day or weather factors.

It depends on the schedule of my class. When I was in college, I have this class schedule that required us to stay in the classroom for 3 hours without break because it was laboratory. After that subject, we have another class and its at 2 pm. At that time I was really very sleepy and I wasnt able to concentrate on my lessons.

I fall asleep in classes sometimes too. It's sad sometimes when I try to stay awake. I sit there and try to pay attention but then I can't keep my head up and it starts bobbing up and down. Then if I try to write, it comes out as wriggly lines. The professors never caught me though (which is weird since I sit so close up front).

There are a few answers. One, is that you felt sleepy one day, and now, revisiting the same environment, your behavior is repeated. Two, something in the classroom cues you to feel sleepy: the classroom may be too warm, or there might not be enough stimulation in the teaching method (in that case, you write copious notes to stay awake). Third, if you do not keep regular hours of sleeping, you may simply be sleep deprived. A teenager needs 9 to 10 hours of sleep a night. If you are staying up into to the wee hours during the week and then trying to catch up on weekends by sleeping all day, then you may be suffering from jetlag-type effects.
Or it may be just because the subject is not in your interest thus making you fell sleepy because there arent any interesting stuff to do. :)

I feel sleepy in the class room when i have heavy food. And also when i hate that particular subject. But it also depends on the trainer who take the class. If he/she make the class interesting, i don't feel sleepy. If he/ she make us to speak and make us to tell us our suggestions, then i don't feel sleepy. But in case like the lecture is just keep on going giving lectures, which make no sense. It is like useless to listen to trainer, so feel bore.

Sometimes, due to stress, when I don't get enough sleep at night plus a boring professor.
