I was one of the first ChaCha guides and for the first year or so it was great and I made some good money. Then like everything else it changed and the money wasn't so good any more it got a lot more complicated. They added so much more technology that I ended up getting lost and basically quitting. It wasn't worth the few cents I made for the work I did.
Are there any more ChaCha Guides around? How are you doing with it? How technological is it now?

I joined ChaCha back in 08 when they were still paying 20 cents per answer. I could easily make $6 - $8 an hour no sweat. Over the last couple of years they have decreased the pay and introduced new roles, so traffic is not always the best anymore. On an average day I'm lucky if I make $2 - $3 an hour. When traffic is great, like on the weekends, I can sometimes make $4 an hour.
The company gets great traffic, but so much of the questions we used to answer are now automated or stored and re-used so the average guide who usually answers the questions no longer sees them.
It's still a good site to work for if you want to make some extra cash, but don't quit your day job.
