Who Hacked Facebook????

Something really effing weird is going on with Facebook today. One of my best friends, a humourous but serious man, appeared to post something on my wall today, some ad for a free ipad, or something I thought it was totally weird, and ignored it. Then I looked at my own wall, and *I* had also posted the thing. That could only mean that my damn account had been hacked. I tried to change my password, but I could not get the window to come up, so I just went about my business.
Now, right in the middle of playing the Slot Machine app, I get logged out, and told my account is suspended. Then I try to re-activate it, and it screws up, and when I try again, it tells me to come back in a damn hour. What the hell is going on with Facebook, and is anyone else having this problem? What are you able to do about it? what is Facebook going to do about it?

As long as you guess the pictures right of your friends when you can actually guess again(when the hour is up) it'll only be a temporary thing. Perhaps I should make my password on fb more "elaborate" if it is in fact, not a security hole in Facebook's site.

good question
I got a lot of those invites in my email today for the ipads and such...a lot of them from you....
I actually didn't open a single one of them and maybe that's a good thing.
I don't open them because you might get a free ipad, but only after you complete 20 offers and get so many others to do the same.

I actually have had the same issue. I saw Ipad spam and of course, deleted the comments. I didn't see any on my wall but all of a sudden I couldn't log in. I had gotten "suspended" temporarily and had to prove my "identity" but the site screwed up and I refreshed and it told me to wait an hour. Kind of ridiculous. I guess since somehow Facebook is broken it's our problem as I don't really log in anywhere from Facebook other then straight THROUGH Facebook so the only explanation would be that someone either guessed my password or Facebook has some major security issues. I think their spam scan bots are assuming that since spam is posted as us that we automatically got phished. My guess is it's a much bigger security loophole. =/
I'll wait an hour and try again though. I was in middle of talking to a business associate and a buddy of mine. *sigh*

Oh.. I thought this isn't happening. I was once having time to browse on with my facebook account. I was surprised when I saw my husband's facebook account around 7 minutes ago that he chose to LIKE Philippine President Aquino. A big HOW? because he's sleeping while I was in my computer. When I told him what happened, he was surprised too. We both changed our passwords but still there's somebody who's manipulating this site for what? that's a big disappointment..

Be careful about what applications you use, as you allow them to see your profile and retrieve information. This is a very easy way for hackers to get into your account, it's way I only stick with trusted network games and applications. One of my friends had a similar problem and they installed game that altered his password, kept sending out invites to join the game and eventually Facebook removed the game from their site.

I had something very similar happen to me a couple of weeks ago. I was chatting with someone and it came on the screen to open something with pics in it. They tried and said they couldn't open it. I said "open what?", since I hadn't sent it to them. I had several others email and tell me the same thing. Then I couldn't get into either my Facebook OR Yahoo accounts without proving who I was and had to change the passwords on both before I could use them. I made sure to send an anti-virus though the entire system, since someone said it sounded like I had been hacked. I also made sure to advise those on my list NOT to open something like that if it came to them. I think one person got a virus from whatever it was, but was able to clean it up. I WAS able to get everything taken care of within a couple days. Good luck with your own mess!!

hi danishcanadian sounds to me like a virus and someones got various address books and is spoofing the user id so that stuff supposedly
from you or your friend is sure not from either of you. I would run
an anti virus scan at once. and when you do manage to get into Facebook I would contact their a dmins and tell them there is a virus going around Facebook.

There's been a lot of that going around lately. I hope you have gotten it resolved by now.

Really, I haven't experienced anything like that on Facebook, maybe i'll try to open it if i'll see some irregularities going on.
