For me it is only a common saying, because in any couple relationship,finding many ways to discover how your partner cares for you is an additional good points why he continuously love you and make him realizes your difference from other woman. Aside the fact, that not all men really know how to cook well. So, they are very much amazed with women who cook well and fact, they consider it special that they are being served with good foods they like. Every person, regardless of gender, has a heart to use and know who the person they love. They uses their heart not their stomach. Those other feelings they consider for themselves are those qualities they look for their partner including qualities they wanted their loved one to be. i did not know that which country you are from. But this nature shows by most of the gent through out the world. In our country we used the term "Jooru Ka Golum" in English " Servant of his wife". But the process the explained wrongly. When a woman come from one family to another new family, she feel alone and his husband try to cover up mostly. And we think that he has no time due to his new wife !!

For me its true but in reality its really depend on the man, just like you said your husband is a picky eater. unlike me whatever my girlfriend cook for me even if its not good I eat it. I just love to eat anything as long as its possible to eat and not bad in our health even my mom anything she cooks I always eat it, meat, veggies or both I'll eat it, and for me I like the girl who are good in cooking. Luckily my girlfriend know how to cook but she's not good as her mom and my mom but still she try to learn more and be a good cook for me and I really love her more because of that.

With my husband, this is true. He's not really picky with the food but he has a high standard on what taste good. My mother-in-law is a great cook and her cooking is what my husband always compare to my cooking. There are times where I can't blame him, I'm not really a good cook. Adding to my injury, my husband cooks better than me. So I really have to exert effort in my cooking skills. Another factor is that according to studies, men are more prone to be cranky when hungry. So one sure way to get their mood right is to feed them well and prepare the food with love.
