I love reading and have enjoyed numerous stories. But is there that one or two stories that have stuck with you? There are two books that have done this with me. The first one is A Tree Grows In Brooklyn, That story was so realistic it was like I was living it. Actually it has been on mind lately and maybe its because of the financial hardship so many of us are facing. I think it gives me hope that we can make it and even though things are tough there are still good times if we choose to see them that way. That life is what we make of it.
The second book is It. I didn't really find the book to be scarry, but after all these years it still leaves a haunting feeling. I have no idea why. I don't care for clowns, but I don't find them horrifying. I must have related to one of the charactors subconsciously or something but I still get a shiver every once in awhile thinking about that book.
How about you, has a book left a lasting impression?

I recently read a book called Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki, which was really inspiring. It's a book about finance and aquiring financial intelligence, which sounds really boring I know, but the book really makes you think and change the way you behave, which is amazing!

Your right, the title doesn't sound to interesting. But you make it sound worth checking into. I'll have to look for it.

That book was really an eye-opener for me and my friends also. Now, we're venturing into stocks, bonds, mutual funds, etc. And off to get more assets! :)) Read it, it's so worth your time. :)

One of Mr.Kiyosaki's messages is to stay away from bad income (taking money from your pocket and giving it to someone else) and to seek only good income (when someone pays you!). Obviously, there are times when you have to pay for something. The trick is to avoid those times when possible and always be looking for ways to make money and increase your streams of income! another thing that caught my ear was his suggestion to make earning money a hobby. Learning how to do all this is the hard part.

probably the little prince. i know it's a kid's book but i really love it. it's so simple yet it speaks of the truth. there are so many lines there that i really love. i have read it over and over again. i read it whenever i'm lonely. i love the part about sunsets. it's also fascinating how the little prince loves his rose. i especially love the part about children and grown-ups. how the book explains that grown-ups never understand anything, and they always need children to explain it to them. i find it amusing, probably because it also fascinates me the way kids think. to them, everything is so simple, and they have explanation for everything.

When I was in middle school, our homeroom teacher read us "Twenty one Balloons" by William Pene Du Bois. It's a fictional story about the island of Kracatoa where the inhabitants enjoy amusement park type rides and the characters come to life in a way that has had me thinking about this book for the last twenty years (time moves by so fast!). Great story for any age!
