Today is my Cat's 17th Birthday!

I thought this should be celebrated. Today my dear old cat will be turning 17. I have had her since the day she was born. We also owned her mother but she passed away quite a few years ago. I am just so glad that she as lived such a long life and I hope their are many more to come.Have you ever had a cat live this long? Or longer?
Some people don't care to celebrate a cats birthday but since I know the actual date and have had her her whole life. Do you celebrate your cats or other pets birthday too?

I only have a vague idea when my cats where born since I adopted them several weeks after birth so we don't really celebrate their birthdays. But I do celebrate the Winter Solstice with my kitties and give them gifts then. Its wonderful that your kitty has lived such a long life, I hope she had many more years to come. Happy Birthday to her.

Thank you. I know what you mean though. Out of the 6 cats I have I only know two exact dates. The rest are just vague as you said (I know the month or so). Thats nice that you give them little gifts and still find a time to celebrate with them.

I adopted my now 4 year old cat from the animal shelter when she was about 4 weeks. She was much too young to leave her mother but they were about to put momma and the litter down. I fed her kitty formula until she could eat hard food. I never knew her birthday but knew it would be the middle of March sometime. My daughter's birthday is in March so we celebrate their birthdays together. I usually get her a toy or a treat for her birthday and at Christmas. I hope she will live to be as old as your cat.

Thats sweet. I too give them a little treat (she doesnt really play anymore being older and slower so no toys) I too hope your cat will live a long healthy life as mine. I hope all my other cats do too.

Awe, happy birthday to your cat!
Unfortunately as my cats were rescued kittens, I'm not entire sure when they were born. They're about 4 1/2.
We make a fuss of them at Christmas though. They get their own stockings!
Our landlady's cat was 21 when it passed. Pretty good going I think.

Thank you. I too have some rescued cats so am not sure of their birthdays either just appoximate time. I remember when I was younger my mother used to put out a stocking for our cats then we got one for the dogs too. Thats so cute to do so. I even use to make cards for my cats for the holidays when i was little lol.

Wow! That's great. Happy birthday to your cat. I never experience celebrating cat's birthday since I adopt my cat when it was almost grown up, her name is monami. We celebrate my dos birthday her name is princess she is a shitzu. I am very please to know that there are many animal lovers like me. Keep loving our pets because they give us unconditional love that even our husbands or boyfriends cannot give. Happy myLotting!!!
