Only Good result only future will bright?

Im IT student, not smart but i passed all my subject.So, There is an interview conducted at my college, we all advice to have a try. Before the interview, they will give some brief about the company. Its like doing database thingy which seem like will bring a bright future if we choose to go for this line. All of us not really have any idea about this database knowledge, which they will conduct months training before start working. So during the interview, they wan to see the recent result( degree) until high school result. And very obvious they just want to hire TOP STUDENT only. Before that, i was advised by my family that after my degree, take this course and get a job related with this. But during interview i convince them , my future plan is related this. But they just hire TOP STUDENT of my class eventually. Means it shown that only TOP Student deserves the job and try? Normal student like me wont get a job easily right?*sighs*

Academic result is important to get you to the interview room. If the academic marks cut-off set by a company for selection is a minimum first class, that means you can attend the interview even if you are just at that mark. This no way means that you need to be a topper to get there. Thereafter, it is completely upto you to convince the interviewers that you are the right candidate for the job. And yes, I will not disagree that luck certainly plays a bit of a role in your final selection!
