What software can you use to unlock a cell phone?

So, I need some education here. What software are good to use to unlock a cell phone in general? Is jailbreak software is the only one software that is good to unlock a phone? Or are there other softwares available too?

I don't think that you need software to jailbreak a cell phone. I'm not really experienced in this but what i have read from online sites is that all you need is the factory code. Usually though you can expect to pay around $50 just for this code, so its really up to you whether or not to spend that kind of money... Good luck!
