Hi all, from some time ago we noticed that our porch has bags of garbage in it each morning. As the rubbish collector will not collect rubbish which is not on the pavement when they make their rounds, most mornings the garbage on our porch keeps piling up. The tenants of the apartments are all very angry and has even called the police in. Nobody ever saw anyone putting his garbage there and we all thought one of the tenants was doing it. Yesterday someone saw a man walking with a dog when suddenly he threw a garbage bag which landed at the next door porch. This made us wonder that maybe it was not one of the tenants after all. The question is, what should we do to stop this? Any ideas?

Hi, Gerbera10. I would contact the police. And I would install an hidden camera to catch the person who is doing this into action. I would not let this continue to happen without me doing something about it. It is so nasty that someone that is not even an tenant, but an passerby that is just throwing their filthy garbage onto someones porch. He should just dump his own trash.

Good idea. I'll speak to the other tenants about installing a camera. Thanks for your reply.

That's just rude, people shouldn't throw their garbage on your porch. You should complain about it.

There has already been a lot of complaints about it and even the police have been brought in. They have informed that they will be issuing heavy fines to whomever is caught throwing garbage. Have to catch them first though!

Call the police, this is a crime in most areas here in the U.S. so I Imagine it probably is where yo are too. the best way to find out who is doing this is to open the bags and go through them, look for discarded mail or anything with a name and adress on it. I know it sounds gross, wear gloves for health purposes obviously, but this is the best way to find out. The only other way to find out is to stay up with the lights off and watch your porch all night. I think just opening the bags would be easier and less time consuming though,.

Thanks and I'll keep your reply in mind. Two days ago I had to clean the mess myself and it was disgusting. I don't know how I'll be able to open the bags with that horrible smell coming out but it has to be done!
