magtibaygom my browser gives me the option to create bookmarks Whenever I see a discussion with some useful info I save it into a folder because there is sure to be someone asking the same question some time in the future. I think it takes much more than a knowledge of how your browser works to be admin on a site as vast as myLot

Sometimes I think mysdianait is part of the admin, or tasked by the admin to act as moderator... She's very knowledgeable about the "ins" and "outs" of MyLot. She can dissect MyLot in front of you like a surgeon dissecting a patient!

I believe that the domain 'MyLot.com" originally belonged to a gardening site (so it must have been intended to mean 'My little patch of ground' or something like that). When Waseringtech bought the name (or adopted it for this site), I think that it was just seen as a catchy name that might have sounded like 'My good place to be' or something like that. It's up to you what you think that it means to you. 'Lot' can mean a number of things in English: 'an empty patch of ground' (as in 'parking lot' or 'vacant lot'); 'an item to be auctioned' (as in 'bidding on Lot # 10 was higher than expected'); 'an unspecified large number' (as in 'a lot of fish' or 'lots of fish'). Many people like to think of it as the site where they make a lot of friends or earn lots of money. Personally, I think of it as just a short and memorable name that doesn't really mean a lot!

I agree with owlwings. The first time I saw this, what came into my mind is, this word came from My Lot. A lot is a small piece of land or real estate that you own. Like "lot for sale". It's a place. So, it may also mean, "My place".

I think mylot stands for the combination of things a person can do. It may be a nickname for the world of mine. It just stands for all interests a specific person can have. So the name has been given as MYLOT
