Builders are afraid to build a 13th floor, publishers not afraid of page 13?

Seriously i have never thought about the number 13 ..
Some of my friends believe in that, but i don't have any idea about it..
In my place many buildings never cross 12 floors ..
I just realized now why they are not going above 12 floors..
But some may believe in ghosts and some may not..
I never believe it..
There is a movie in our regional language called 13-B..
It's a horror movie that take place in 13th floor apartment of a building..

Ya we could say that it depends on people perceptions and regional folklores too to make one go with whatever is the norm in their city, state or country. The best guess it to nto think about these things at all. In acountry like India, where it is difficult to get a place to say, i am sure this thoguth does not even cross their mind before buying or staying in an apartment.

Yes, only a very few think about the number 13 in India..
I had it once when i was paying my exam fees, i was enrolled 13th in serial, some of my friends told it was unlucky, but many didn't consider..
Eventually i was very successful in that semester!!

I guess book publishers are in a much nicer "condition"... since they are in this chair inside this huge office. It doesn't seem like anything bad could happen. On the other hand builders are on floor 13, high winds, heights, no air conditioner, etc.

Well said kengoshika, builders are people who are on the street making things happen and when they notice that things go wrong as soon as they building start on the 13 floor, then obviously they would want to give it a miss and move on the 14th floor.

I think the '13' is not a luck number in some people's eyes , especially the builders . But the Book publishers do not think so , therefore they still use the page 13 or volume 13 when they print books . That is my view , do you think so ? friends
