I am so happy! And releived!! Ive been waiting on this claim for almost 2 years now. Now I won't have to live so broke anymore. Well, not as bad as it is now. Only child support is helping me and that takes all the bills. Nothing left for essentials at all. I was hoping this would pay off as bad as my health has gotten. At least it is sort of worth it now being in constant pain, I will get something for it now!! I don't know when I start getting the money, but at least I know I will be able to get my son some clothes finally!

I am happy to see somebody get theirs approved. I have a very slim chance of getting mine approved because I don't have enough medical documentation. It takes too much out of me to constantly go to doctors only to have to convince them that my problems are real and debilitating. I'll probably struggle to work til I keel over.

I understand why you are feeling this way. I felt this way to. I was so scared that my doctor wouldn't be on my side. I don't even know if she said something on my behalf. But I got a lawyer and then he did mostly everything. If you don't have one, I would get one. It does better your chances. I also was always to sick and weak to go to my appointments with the doctors, but you have to prove to them how serious you are and that you need this. Don't give up on it.

Wow what a blessing to finally get approval. I know the months of waiting have been hard but just think about it that you will soon be out of the dark and into the light.

Thanks so much. What I am really happy about is that I will be able to move out of this place. It has been a nightmare living here. VERY noisy and that dosent help all my health probs. Thanks again

Herro lagirl1966 If I could suggest anything to anyone applying for disability, have concrete medical documentation. My disability is cancer. I had documentation from every doctor that had seen me since my diagnosis. The second thing is appeal, appeal, appeal. My girlfriend next door did not have medical documentation, however has an attorney that has handled the appeals. She sees the judge on the 17th. She is truly disabled, I know we have been friends for 30+ years. Prayers for all of you Prosperous mylotting

Herro lagirl1966 My disability was approved. I had ovarian cancer, one of the most difficult to diagnose. I had some friends who were on disability and told me how to set up a binder with everything social security wanted. When I went to office for my first interview the case worker was very appreciative. I had done all the work. And I got sick at her office. This was a few years back. Praise God, I am cancer free at the moment. However, chemo left me some other disabilities. I have also had a few minor strokes. God bless you guys and my prayers are with you Prosperous mylotting

Hi TexLadyPj, Did you get yours approved? I hope you did. I am so sorry you have cancer. I hope your friend gets approved. You are right. You do need that documentation and appealing is so important. Prayers to you

Congratulations! That’s really good news. It’s awful how genuinely vulnerable people are put through the mill and treated like malingerers, in order to weed out the few that are. I’ve been going through the same thing for the last year. They’ve done everything but outright call me a liar. My tribunal date has finally been given as the 18th of this month (I’ve been waiting for months) and I have evidence from different doctors as well as the Citizens’ Advice Bureau so there shouldn’t be any way that they can deny my claim now. Here’s hoping.

I agree with you. They do this to weed out the people that don't really need it. Good luck to you on the 18th. That is the same day I go to the SS office to give them income info. I think it is so unfair the way the government treats people. They don't really care about your health. I think you will do fine. But I will also say a prayer for you.

Girl! You've been on my mind so strongly lately that I've been meaning to either email you or call you to see how you're doing but with everything that's been going on with me, I haven't gotten around to it but gosh darn!!!!! That's WONDERFUL news!! I knew it would happen but didn't know when but I'm SO relieved that it's finally happening!! AWESOME!! Now to give you some advice, you're going to get a lump sum and you're going to have all kinds of friends come out of the woodwork so please please be very careful and use the money as YOU need it and not for everybody else in God's creation. That's not to say you can't help anybody but that to be very careful who and how you help them.... ok? I'm SO deg gone happy for you!! You go girl!! You go girl!! lol HUGS!!!!

Hi Cats! Ive been thinking about you to, but ive been so sick lately i haven't been online much. I am so relieved now! I wonder how much money I will get. I don't even know yet. They want me to come into the local SS office with income info to see if I qualify for payments?? I thought I would automatically get them. I tell you, I am ready for some money! I plan on using some of the money for a deposit to get out of this hell hole!! There is so much stress here it dosent do me any good. It has gotten much worse here. I am going to save the rest. Living so broke like this has got me kind of acustom to it now. I hate spending money! At least I will be able to afford the essentials! No more begging to my mom! What has been going on with you??? How is the family? Send me an email and catch me up ok??? Right now I have another sinus infection right after having sinus surgery. I am so sick of this. Plus I am still having headaches everyday. I hope to get it solved. Take care!

Hi lagirl1966, Finally! However, I think it is utterly shameful how they made you wait, in pain, I might add, for two years to get the benefits that you so desperately need. What is the matter with our government system. They can help everyone but their own. Nevertheless, you will soon be in a better position to take care of yourself and your family, this has got to be a good feeling. Having money problems can reek havoc on your body and if you are already ailing, that just make the situation and healing time worse. When you are relaxed and less stressed your body tends to respond to treatment and medications better than it would under stress. The benefits, will not solve all the problems, I am sure, but you can smile just a little more. Congratulations on winning your case, a be well.

Thanks so much Angelgirl, I am still going to have hurdles to jump, but not as high now. My mind will be at ease knowing that I can get my essentials and ect ... But I still have my health to deal with, and that of finding another place to live. Once I do that, so much stress will be lifted off of me and maybe my health will get better. You are right, stress can ruin your body. That is how I got some of my ailments. Thanks again

Hi lagirl1966 Listen, you take one step at a time, even if they are slow one. And, just know that your bad days are tests of faith and ar just temporary setbacks. Keep being grateful.

I've been trying to get SSI for years *I'm blind in my left eye, since I was a baby, they did an operation to keep me alive, and gave me too much oxygen or something like that and it blinded me* and have got denied 2 times, they told me I wasn't blind enough. :/ Congrats on your approved!!! Hopefully it starts soon, if I know correctly from a friend that was on it for depression *she got approved first time! :/* that it starts the month after you get approved - so if I'm correct, it would start in September. Just in time for school! :D

Hi valerieanne, Did you go in front of the judge?? That is what did it for me. I got denied twice to. They say you have appeal appeal ... and I did and also had a lawyer. If you didn't go that far you should apply again. I am sure you would get approved. I am sorry that you have had to live like this. Yes, just in time for school! I can't wait! Take care of yourself

hi lapgirl thats just terrific and that has been so long, now you will at last get some real help. I know frome experience that living broke almost breaks one's spirit.I do hope you will get something to stop your pain as its so hard to live like that, been there and done that, myself. I hope it will come very soon and you can get your son the clothes he needs and help for your own medical condition too. Good luck God bless you both.

Thanks Hatley, It does make you go crazy not ever having money. I am working on getting my pain stopped but it is not that easy. Especially when I have to live in a stressful environment. Thanks for your kind words. Hope you are doing ok.

Congrats lagirl: I know what its like too going through all the hassle and headaches of it all. I went through all of this too with my own when I had a(MVA) back in 1996, got my disability in Oct of 1999. Had it not been for my Father helping me out I would have been homeless. its a bad situation for any of us trying to fight the system, going from doctor to doctor and so on.. Congrats again I know what you've been through.
