Ok so i have started dieting/exercising for about 2 weeks now and im very pleased with my results . Ive been eating healthy and taking an hour walk everyday and i have lost 10 pounds already but it seems like i look like i gained weight instead of losing it. I know that it takes more than 10 pounds to look more thin but am i supposed to look more fat ? the scale says i lost 10 but the mirror says i gained 10.
what is happening to me ? is this supposed to happen at the beginning?

If your really concerned I would get a tape measure and make sure it's not your mind just playing tricks on you. I would think that some kind of bloating while taking on a new diet and exercise regime would be normal, but I'm not really an exercise/health expert. I'm sure your just noticing more now that your looking in the mirror more often. Just a though Goodluck!

Don't let it bother you just keep doing what you're doing. It's often easy to expect results almost overnight. Give it time. It may be that you are losing weight in areas that you didn't expect to in the beginning. We more easily notice excess weight in areas such as the buttocks and the waist because it normally collects more easily and to a greater extent in these areas. Smaller areas such as the arms, legs, and face will usually show signs of weight loss quicker because there is a smaller percentage of weight in these areas to lose. It may be that the reason you look a little bigger in the mirror is because you've lost most of your weight from these areas thus making them look smaller and the larger areas look bigger. Does that make any sense? I would suggest that you not just rely on the scale to chart you progress but also to measure the different areas of your body...arms, legs, torso, buttocks, etc....to see how much they've decreased in size. This should help you see more clearly how much weight you are losing and where you are losing it.

Maybe you are just not looking at the right places, sometimes you lose weight in some areas faster than some other locations.

I would have no clue towards dieting and that sort of area so the advice I'm going to offer is... Do you think maybe your mirror is providing you with an illusion! Or maybe your brain is telling you, you look fat when really your looking slimmer. Get some advice from other people you know and keep losing weight. Congratulation on the weight loss by the way.
