Percy Jackson?

Okay, so my friend kept telling me what a fun movie this was, how good it was, so finally I rented it at the kiosk. I'm just glad it only cost a dollar! I was sorely disappointed in it. I expected so much more! It had such potential for fun! But after suffering through its two dimensional plot I have to say that a 40 minute episode of Xena had more depth and plot development to it than this full length feature film. All the best parts of the movie were in the previews! Out of a possible five stars, I gave it maybe two. It's not that it was a bad movie, it was just ALMOST good. Anyone else out there agree with me or am I just blowing in the wind? heeheeheeeeee (furby laugh)

When I watched Percy Jackson in the moviehouse, I was greatly disappointed. The movie isn't as good as I thought it would be. The shifting of scenes from the modern times to the incorporation of mythology was not properly portrayed. The "fury" came out just like that. And about the pearls that would take them out of the Underworld, they knew that there would be 4 of them going back then why did they only take 3 pearls? It was just plainly stupid. Although I have to admit that the girl is kinda cute.

lol...well, the eye candy was there, I will admit. That's probably the only reason I made it through the whole movie. I was immediately suspicious of Luke as the thief and what was the bolt doing in the shield he gave Percy? If he didn't want Zeus to get it back, why would he hide it in this shield and then give the shield to Percy? It just didn't make any sense. But then, Percy going after his mom instead of after the bolt wasn't very smart, either. Definitely a teen flick...you have to have that underdeveloped frontal lobe to enjoy this one! lol

I agree with you on this one. Percy Jackson was a disappointment, when I first saw the trailer I thought it would be a action pack special effects type of movie since it is a famous book adaptation and the trailer makes it look spectacular, turns out just the trailer and it become a teeny almost school like movie. Uma Thurman just wasted her head on this movie hahaha.

LOL...I thought Uma was the best part. At least the Medusa scene had some depth to it and Uma was wickedly good. I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who felt this way.

I didn't like it much because it was such a horrendous adaptation of the book. I mean... I kinda liked it... but not enough. It was too different. The Percy Jackson books are some of my favorite reads and I had hoped that the movie would at least attempt to live up to the book.

Yeah, my daughter says the book was better, too...but then, books leave so much more to the imagination, you can often fill in the blanks that movies leave. I just thought the plot needed so much more development than was there.

It was better in the book. Those silly pearls weren't in the book... Percy was looking for the bolt the whole time. I hated how in the movie you immediately knew that Luke was the Traitor. In the book, it was much more of a shock. Ah well... maybe in ten years or so they'll make another one that'll be better.

LOL...Actually, they'll probably make a sequel next year and it'll be even worse than the first one!

I half love it. I can be better if they did something more.
