I love eating mashed potato, especially the from Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC). I like putting a lot of gravy into it also. I tried making my own mashed potato and gravy, but I just can not perfect the taste and also the gravy. Would you know the recipe in making a great mashed potato? Please share it. Thanks!

I make my own mashed potatoes but I bet that´s not how KFC makes it. It would be too expensive. I cook peeled potatoes, mash them with a big dab of butter (not margarine) and whole milk and beat. This last thing is done by hand and it has to be done minutes before cooking as potatoes have starch and the consistency will change if you leave it alone and reheat it.
As for gravy, I only make gravy when I have made roast beef. I can even save some of the juice to use later with potatoes and no meat. The meat juice is thickened with a bit of flour.

You know, I am not really good in cooking. But I just really love mashed potato that's why I was just trying to copy the taste of KFC's mashed potato and their gravy, so that I don't have to buy there always, but apparently, I can't. ButI'll try making gravy using meat juice, or is it the beef broth? Anyways, thanks for the information.

Meat juice (the cooked one when you make a roast beef) is best. But you can even use beef broth, sauces in the super (you addwater or milk, follow instructions).

Whenever I make mashed potatoes, I peeled it first , sliced and then boiled. ANd mash it while it's very hot. It find that easier to mash that way, then you add some butter, milk and cream, It all depends on your taste,.Then you can add some salt and pepper to taste. There are many instant gravy now in the market. So you could justy grab one, I just don't like the instant mashed potatoes, Mashed potatoes are meant to be mashed.
