How do you cook instant noodles?

Do you wait for the water first to boil and then add the noodles and cook for 3 minutes. And then you add the seasoning after it is cooked? Just like the instructions say. OR like me, do you just put all of it, the noodles and the seasonings and then turn on the stove? I do it because it is faster and more convenient. And I think the noodles will absorb the seasoning if you out it there before cooking.

my mom said that the best technique you could do to have a yummy noodles (pancit canton style or the one with soup) is really to let the water boil. like you could see it bubbly. that would be the best time to put the noodles as well as the flavorings. :D

because if you put the noodles along the water - it will not be cooked very well. same method as cooking fried chicken. the chicken will get burned if you placed it already in the pan yet the oil is not hot enough to cook it. :D

I thought that the reason you put the chicken in a very hot oil, is that it won't stick to the pan? Anyway about the noodles, maybe so it can be cooked al dente! If you can time it perfectly which is very hard and I couldn't care less if it is al dente or just very soft as long as it is cooked!

For me, it will depend on the cookingware that I will use. If it's a sealed pot or a small pot with cover, I usually put everything in the pot, give it a quick mix/stir, then bring it to a boil. Once I see bubbles on the water (through the pot's glass cover). I turn off the stove and let the remaining heat cook the noodles. After 2 minutes, everything is cooked to perfection. Have you ever tried instant noodles ala al dente?

NO. Is that even possible? Instant noodles are very fast to get soft. And I like it soft.

Hi, damned_dle. I cooked instant noodles last week for my kids. I usually will boil the water first. Once I do that, I will add the uncooked noodles to the boiling water. Once the noodles start to get softer, I will add butter. Then I will add the seasoning to it. I will let it boil down until all the water has dissipated from the pot.

I don't understand why you are wondering about the way of cooking instant noodles. Everybody do the way you explained in the discussion explanation. Also, the way to cook instant noodles is already explained in the packet. Some people pre-cook some vegetables such as carrots, beans, and green peas and add to the instant noodles once they start cooking. Some people mix an egg with it. You can try that some time.

Yes, Different people cook it differently. Not everyone follows the instructions. Which is good so we can have variations on a very easy to cook food.

Hi, Instant noodle is the most easier to cook and it is very convenience food to cook when we are hungry and have very limited time to do cooking. For me, the way I cook instant noodle is : boil a pot of water, after the water is boiling, put in the instant noodle and stir them well for about 10 mins. I don;t like to eat soft instant noodle,as long as they are cooked, it is alright for me. For the seasoning, I will put them into the bowl( i never put whole pack of seasoning-too salty, i will just add 3/4 ),add bit of hot water to mix well. After the noodle is cooked, strain them and pour into the bowl. Mixed them well with the seasoning and ready to eat. I do read from an email that my friend forwarded to me sometimes back,it is not good to mix that water(we used to boil the instant noodle as the soup for our noodle),not healthy. Sometimes, I will add some egg and vegetable for my instant noodle to add more flavours into it. I do eat instant noodle 3-4 times a month.Don't consume them everyday, not good for health. The brand I like most is Maggi,it taste delicious and have different flavours.

That is tedious, doesn't seem like instant at all! Why is the boiled water unhealthy to consume?

Hi, It is mainly because the noodle itself is coated with wax and if you were to use the water to boil the instant noodle as the soup, then that water soup is not healthy, not good for our body as its contain wax. Hope my explanation can anwswer to your question. Takecare..

When I am cooking ramen noodles in the packs, I crunch them up and put them in the water then add the seasoning and let it boil all at once. I think the noodles absorb the seasoning packets better that way but since hubby doesn't really care for soup I mix in instant mashed potatoes and it thickens the noodles up. My family really loves it cooked this way. In fact thats what we had for supper tonight and my hubby and my son both had second helpings of it. It only takes a little of the mash potatoes to thicken it up.

Well me I just put the water in and cook it for 3 minutes and thirty seconds then I just wait a while and it tastes really good for me. I used to cook it at four minutes, but now I don't do that because the noodles would be overcooked and they would taste like nothing no flavor at all and that was not very good. That's why I changed it to three minutes and thirty seconds because it didn't loose it's flavor. Many people do it differently depending if your in a hurry or not I guess. I love the noodles to be the the spicy kind though because I always love my food to be nice and spicy or I won't eat it. Food that has no spice tastes like it has no flavor to me.

I put chopped red chili pepper on it to make it super hot! And a little freshly ground black pepper and a few onion leeks.

I put the water in the caserole with the noodles and the seasoning in it already even if the water is not yet boiling. Because I want the seasoning to be really cooked along with the pasta, because if I put it later, it tastes salty for me. And I want the noodles to be overcooked. Because I want it soft to eat.

To cook the noodles, you have to fill a pot with water, bring to boil and then lay the Fidenae, salt, and if you have any seasoning, too. Controls few minutes to see if they are ready, you have to take a noodle and try it, or throw it against the wall, if it sticks, ready to eat.

Those are not "Instant Noodles". Wow, you really throw noodles on your wall?

They say that instant noodles has a wax covering as a preservative. So what I do is I boil a small cup of water first and immerse the noodles in the boiling water for a minute to remove the wax. Then, I rinse the noodle in cold water. I boil another set for the soup and stock.

I cooked it in either way. As long as I don't overcooked the noodles any cooking process will do, because I hate thick slimy overcooked noodle strands. ;o

Hello Damned_dle. If you mean the packs of instant noodles with a sachet of seasoning then the easiest way is add the seasoning to the boiling water, stir well then add the noodles and simmer for a couple of minutes while constantly stirring them slowly. I usually cook my instant noodles in about three minutes total.

On days when I don't really wanna give a damn about how I do it, I just put everything in, like you do. However, if you want to get extra cautious about these noodles, I have read one time that the healthy way of cooking them is to boil the noodles first, strain the noodles out of the hot water, then boil another round of water, now with the seasoning (for the broth). This is because there's what they call "wax" that coats the noodles so they don't stick to each other while cooking, and this substance is said to be a carcinogen. Obviously, this wax thingy gets mixed up with the boiling water while the noodles are being cooked. You don't wanna take that in, right? This is also why cup noodles are so less healthy than instant noodles. I know it kind of makes it, like, "How the hell did cooking instant noodles get so hard??!!" Oh well, it's still up to us. :)

Most of the time I won't cook the instant noodles. When I want to have the instant noodles, usually I am in a hurry and I don't want to cook at all. Usually I just put boiled water and then wait for few minutes and I will eat the instant noodles directly. I love China

Nobody likesx to wait for the water to boil. It can seem like time is standing still. yet, when cooking instant noodles, i will wqait for the water to boil well before i drop my noodles in. Sometimes i cook them a bit longer than the required three minutes. I also don't put as much water in the pan as suggested. I like to wait for a few minutes before adding the seasoning. The flavor seems to stay with the noodles longer.

I usually just let the water simmer a bit first, then i toss everything in the packet, excluding the foil, of course. And I don't like to give it more than the 3 minutes because i hate soggy noodles, and I add a few chinese pechay leaves and some eggs. And i usually add a bit of oil in it after i remove the pan from the stove. It's convenient too, wouldn't take more than a few minutes but the end result becomes tastier than if I just cooked it as is.

When i cook instant noodles, First I boiled the water then add the seasoning. I boiled it for another 10 seconds then that's the time I put the noodles and turn off the gas stove at the same time. Because I don't want my noodles to be overcooked.

I think the best is to put the noodles in boiling water and then turn off the heat, the seasoning coming later in the eating dish. It's more tasteful!

I put all the seasoning in first, then i boil the water separately while i shake around the seasonings in the noddles. Then i put in the boiling water and add garlic seasoning and put some japanese chili sauce. After that, youre good to go
