hi friends.first we got a good news and bad news.
bad news is yuvi's place in test playing XI in in trouble.
good news is raina is in form.
well to extend this good news, raina scored a 100,involved in couple of 100 runs partnership and played a match winning innings in the final day.so he is now making yuvi work hard to keep his place which is always a good news when there is competition ,the players give their best which yuvi was unable to do because he had no competition for dada's spot after his retirement.
a timely 2 hundreds at the right time allowed him there but now its not going to be easy.
well two hard hitting batsmen.both are vulnerable against quality spin.plays stupid shots like sehwag when team in trouble.usefull part time spinners.excellent fielders (though raina is much better )
its is kinda hard to choose between these 2.

Yes...rightly said that there is a good news and a bad news at the same time....both the players are extremely talented. Yuvraj has been there for a while now...trying to fix a spot in the batting line up (held by Fab 4). He got a chance only when Ganguly retired and grabbed it...Raina got a chance only when Yuvraj got injured..and he too grabbed it...Hereon it would be interesing between these two as to who would be first choice...(Both are in the squad because of their talent)

I think it is good for India. Ideally India would like both to play as the likes of Dravid, Laxman and Sachin all approach their retirement dates. But Yuvraj has not risen to the task till now and has consistently failed. So I think it is great to see Raina claim the spot. But the real test for Raina would be on bouncier tracks as he is susceptible to the rising ball. I think Yuvraj is a better bet on such tracks. Let's wait and watch.
Cheers!

Yuvi is struggling with consistent injuries which makes him to fill the spot confirm. Whereas Raina fitness and batting is brilliant and maturing fast. So Yuvi 1st makes fit and then his rhythm.

raina is a promising talent for the future indian team.
he is our future captain, so i belive raina will be given more importance than the out of form yuvraj singh.

i think Raina plays well than yuvvi in this season.
but i dont think that one of these guys will miss the place in the team for odis.
in odi's both will get chance and yuvi will be forced to deliver if he needs to continue in the team.
so surely pressure is on yuvi.
and yuvi is a handy bowler in odi, so dhoni will never discard him.

Yuvi is a great player without any doubt but after looking at the current form of raina it is difficult to say which one should sit and which one should play. I feel great after knowing that I am not the one who has to decide this.

One thing i want to tell you in this matter that a player who playes well he will get place in a team whether he is famous or not. Famous comes when he plays well but if a famous player is not playing well then its of no use to continue him in a squad. Selectors should think about this. If Yuvi wants his place then he should perform well rather than playing worst.

Well its early days for raina , for now he surely has replaced yuvraj but when he plays more and more cricket teams will try to find weaknesses .Yuvraj i dont think is fully fit like he used to be before, though his weakness towards spin is evident ,having said that he handles short ball much better than raina. So when we play on pace friendly and bouncy pitches we may need yuvraj .Raina i think is more responsible player now than yuvraj and sehwag when it comes to throwing wickets at crucial moments by playing rash shots, may be because his place is not fixed in the team and whenever he gets chance he wants to make it count. So i think raina is more suited to no 6 position in tests when we play on slow pitches and yuvraj is mroe suited on bouncy tracks , though raina is not yet tested on bouncy tracks as test player, so he is having edge over yuvraj in test team if we have to chose between the two.
