I was looking at some of the cars they are selling on ebay motors and some where at really good prices, but is it really a good idea to purchase a car from ebay, what happens if they try to scam you? anybody knows?

I bought my first car on Ebay. At first I was skeptical on whether I should trust Ebay when buying a car. I decided to search for listings that were only a couple hours from me. That way if I wanted to buy a car, I could drive or meet the person who was selling it. If they scam you, then I guess you would file a claim on Ebay and you should get your money back. Also, look at the sellers feedback rating. I try to buy only from power sellers or people with very little negative feedback. Hope this helped!

Get a mechanic to check it out first. I know someone who bought a car for $1300.00, he had someone take him to pick up the car (it was about 120miles away), he test drove it and seemed ok, so he gets about halfway home and the engine blew. He didn't get his money back because it was "as is". That's the only story I've ever really heard of someone buying one so obviously I would say buy with extreme caution. You may have better luck at an auction. Good Luck!
