The Snare of Speech Speech sows the seed for a dire debate, Lying at the root of every ill-fate, Flora and fauna, although mute Dwells in serenity free from dispute. Man is bestowed with Nature’s bounty Or is it a curse, the oral faculty? Disagreement and depreciation it does express, Surpasses accord’s bound, the tongue so helpless. How happy is the rose, every heart’s dear The veil of sheeny petals conceal its tear, The hart and the hind, a couple so frisky No words for complaint, their love’s not risky. Dumb creatures on the bosom of the brine To fly in the welkin never do they pine, Sucking nectar from the lips of flower The bee can only buzz for great power. How blessed are they, no cry, no hue, Joy, sorrow and anger, they can subdue, ‘The Superior of all’, man thinks his gain? Derisive laughter, others shower, pride washed in vain. The Vacuum World What a mockery God has done Creating but a circus void of fun A mopish market this world is Where men are bought by men selfish. The air is noxious, so is man’s mind No place can passions or sentiments find Pearl from the eyes shower like rain Why shower them when all in vain? The bud of love blooms to wither, Hearts are bargained hither and thither, Hopeless love with eyes bedewed Heart shattered and life reduced. Trapped in the web of dazzling emotions Men live to die for murk passions Yet clung to hope so desperately Knowing life is but a buff, a vain fancy. A Wish If I were a bird – I would fly from tree to tree, Breaking all the shackles of this world, I would have been a soul so free. Making my niche the greenery around, Nibbling at fruits on the ground, Quenching my thirst at the gelid stream, I will be the queen of sky, this is my dream. Soaring in the vastness of the sky, To the supramundane would I fly, No nexus, no bond would tie me then, To the spiral coil of this mundane. But Fate has driven me to the world of despair Laden with selfishness unable to bear, To break these brutal knots would I try And fly like a bird in the serene sky. Life What is life? Sometimes I feel, What’s the essence of this revolving wheel? I search my soul and rack my brain Alas! All attempts futile, nothing do I gain. Is it a mere cycle of birth, marriage and death? What is before birth and beyond the last breathe? What is life? Sometimes I feel, What’s the essence of this revolving wheel? Life, a grave question imposed on the mind The Answers are several, try to find, It is a row of roses, also a bed of thorns, Life is a tale of sorrow singing sweet songs. Born to fulfill our assigned task Toiling from life’s dawn till the dusk, Beginning with the child deploring for its toy Reaching the old age recollecting past joy. Darkness before birth and darkness after death In between the darkness, the sparkle of living breathe, A journey from the cradle to the grave it covers In between lies a variety of flavors and colors. Then, why rack your brain and search your soul? Know, life is a grave and death its goal. So, let’s learn to live with the eroding time Having high hopes, vigor and thoughts sublime. Success Try hard, Work hard, Success is there, Waiting for you Here and there. Be determined, stay firm, In your motive and action And see, you’ll be rewarded for your determination. Listen! Never be deterred by failure Be dexterous, success is for sure. Success is the quintessence of resolution Success is the resplendence of resuscitation.
