As a child growing up in Jamaica, we had so many ways to keep ourselves active and highly entertained, especially during the long, hot summer holiday. When I look at my nieces and nephews now all they want to do is to stay indoors, with the television, the computer, the PSP. We used to be out there in the glorious sunshine playing, hide 'n seek, Bat 'n Ball, Dandy Shandy, Chinese Skipping, Stuckie, Six a side football, Dolly house, Jump Rope, and Hop Scotch. Boy! did we have a wonderful time!! I surely miss those days. How about you? what are some of the games you used to play when you were little?

Hi Charmaine, I've also noticed how the kids stoped playing the games of our childhood. In our days I don't hear much of the noise we used to make when we were playing "Hide'n seek", "Ducks and Hunters", "Countries", "Sleapy Bear", "Stone Bridge", "Soldiers for our country"... I think now-days the kids miss the best part of childhood: playing outside, with real friends, running and laughing with the wind in their hair..

Just talking about it brings back so many memories. Those ring games we used to play at nights under the light of the moon..."There's a Brown Girl in the Ring Cha la la la la..."

I remember we used to play that kind of games, too. But their name were "Sleepy bear" or "I've lost a little handkerchief"... We were holding hands in a circle and we were singing so laud so anybody can hear us from the next district . I remember I still heared those songs when I was a teenager. It's a sweet memory the song sung by children's clear voices...
