Earlier on today my daughter got a phone call while she was at work,it was her boyfriends mother, she told my daughter that my daughters son was at the hospital and that he was asking for her. With this she rang me in tears and told me what had happened and why he was at the hospital,i found it hard to understand what she was saying as she was sobbing soo much. Her boyfriend was at a football match and he had been assulted by someones dad.He was transfered from one hospital to another to see a specialist, as he had a fractured jaw on one side and a broken jaw on the other side.He is having metal plates put in his face and his jaw wired tomorrow. What is the world coming to.

OMG! I do hope that the man that did this is brought to justice. People do these things because no one ever says or does anything about it. Just lets it go and it exscelates into what happened to him. People who get away this sort of thing think that they are Kings and until they are brought down they continue to do such things.

This is soo true, but my daughters boy friend is going to take this man to court and get compensation for all the pain that he has been put through, aswell as all the time off work that he has to have off.The man may even get to do time in prison as this is not the first time he has done something like this to a person.

My daughters boyfriend is out of hospital and is slowly on the mend.He will not be playing football for sometime to come, neither will he be able to go to work.He is having to eat all sloppy foods as his jaw has been wired and he is still very sore. The main thing is that he is ok.

Oh no, what happened??? The dad just lost it or something? Was the boyfriend part of the crowd or involved in the game somehow? I pray he doesn't have any complications, this sounds serious, the metals plates and all..

My husband just had someone from his work go through a similar situation..he was at a basketball tournament and from what I understand the other teams captain was upset that his team didn't win and instead of dealing with the loss and walk away he decided to take his anger out on my husbands coworker and as my husbands coworker was leaving the court this other guy cold cocked him right him the chin and busted his jaw....I know that this coworker had to have his jaw wired shut and had to have numerous for months after and he still says that he has pain from it especially when it gets cold outside due to the metal plates.
This coworker wasn't going to do anything about it but after he started getting his medical bills back he started thinking that he better so he contacted a lawyer advised him that he should, this guy had no right to lay his hands on him and that he can surely sue for medical bills and pain and suffering so my husbands coworker did whether this made him look like a coward or not those medical bills need covered and the jerk that punched him should be the one to do it....so long story somewhat short, my husband coworker sued for medical and pain and suffering and won and he won close to $65,000 which is great because this scum that is terrible sport and can't take a little basketball loss got one heck of a bigger loss in his wallet which is alway where it hurts the worst LOL!!
I hope he gets through this with as little pain as possible but I would definately advise them to sue this jerko that did this because he deserves to pay for his actions!!

My daughters boyfriend is out of hospital now and he is slowly getting on the mend.He is taking the man to court for compensation.I think that he has suffered where as there was no need to suffer. The man will be going to court soon and he may get a jail sentance as he has done other things like this in the past.I just think that people that do this to other people are sick, yes you are right to hit them where it hurts and that is in their pockets.

This is sooo very unfortunate! I certainly hope he recovers without too many complications!
What is the world coming to indeed! Parents need to calm down at football games and other school games! Isn't that where our kids are supposed to learn good sportsmanship? Even if child was being vociferous and/or aggressive, the parents should be the models that kids look up to! There's just no place for violence like this, and no excuse for a parent to assault another parent's child!

My daughter was horrified when she saw the state that her boyfriend looked, aswell as knowing that he is having a serious operation on his face that will take months to heal. The man that done this to my daughters boyfriend is on his last warning before he done this. Her boyfriend is pressing charges aswell as going for compensation for loss of earnings aswell as damage to his face.

I am so sorry to hear this, This is very serious matter, and your daughter also needs someone to comfort her at this point. I hope you could get justice from this, Some parents are just so bad as their children, I hope this parent won't just get away with this just like that. I hope he gets well and your daughter too. God bless you.

When she saw what this man had done to her boyfriend she was horrified that anyone could do that to anyone else. The man is getting arrested and charged with gbh. They will be now seeking compensation off the man that done this injury,as this will take weeks to heal aswell as all the pain. The operation on his face is at 5pm today,so lets hope all go well for that.

Unfortunately there is too much of this going on. One of the problems, i think is the punishment is never enough, so offenders repeat.

It sounds like when this all go to court the man may have a spell in prison as he has been in trouble before. He is going to try to get compensation as he will have to have alot of time off work.I think that he is feeling a bit better now, even though he is still in alot of pain.

I was shocked to hear that he got hurt by a nutter is the only way to describe this man.My daughters boyfriend is now out of hospital and is on the mend. Her boyfriend came to see me the other day and i must say he looks better than i thought he would.I told him that if he gets alot of compensation he can marry my daughter,as he can then afford to pay for the wedding, not that he could answer back, but i could see that smile trying to come through. It is horrid knowing that someone can do this to another person.

That is a crime. The boyfriend must sue the attacker for the physical injury.

Some people take their son or daughters sports games too seriously. I have heard of this kind of thing happening a lot. Maybe parents shouldn't be allowed to attend their child's games. I hope your daughters boyfriend will be okay. Even if he sues the guy, whatever he gets will help, but it won't help the physical damage that was done.

I have heard of this kind of thing. Sometimes kids (young kids, 10 or 11 years old) compete in a sport and the parents beat each other up over something that happens on the field. I am very passionate about a few sports and teams but it would never enter my head to get in a fight over it. Your daughter's boyfriend will probably be on a liquid diet for a while. I hope he recovers fully.

Some would say it's coming to an end. I am saying I Will right now sit here in my chair and say a prayer for him. Yes I know there are people that say there are people here that are liars and don't give a hoot, while I agree you find there all over but I am honestly feeling bad for the family and at best I'm guessing he was probably cheering and got a beating. That is NOT ok and prayers going out NOW.

Thank you for your prayers. He was playing football and the man that assulted him was spectating watching his son on the opposite side of the team. The father walked up behind my daughters boy friend and smashed him on the face, for no reason other than his son was loosing. He is known to the police so he will get done for actual bodily harm.

It is awful to hear any of my children cry or know that they are upset, knowing that there is nothing i can do to put things right.I have seen my daughter tonight that is still soo upset that a person could do that to another person.Thankfully my daughters future father in law can drive,so he will be taking her to see him in hospital tomorrow.I hope his op go well,as he hates hospitals aswell as the needles.Thank you for your response.

He will be taking this man to court and try to get compensation for the damage he has done aswell as what ever wages he loses as he will be off work for sometime to come.I think the man that done this should be locked up,this is not the first time he has assulted anyone and am sure this will not be the last.

The person that done this is known to the police,as he is already on a warning,so he will be put behind bars now i think. My daughters boyfriend will have metal plates in his face for life,he is in agony miles away from home in hospital that he has never seen, let alone knows the area.He will be going for compensation for is injurys. This was all over a game of football.

I am sorry to hear about your family's pain. It never ceases to amaze me how some people will find the opportunity to hurt others. who would think at a friendly game. Some people are actually the epitome of sports fanatics and take their fanaticism to ridiculouse levels. Hope you daughter's boyfriend makes a full recovery. I will include him in my prayers tonight.
