Okay I really suck at writing titles, but... I just responded to another discussion here and I had to say that it made me want to create one just about my response. LOL. Okay here we go. A long time ago I found a really awesome site that you have to apply to to work at (the application process is really easy, you just write an article for them) and its called textbroker. They do NOT do referrals, YOU do not have to worry about advertising yourself or your work or your page or whatever, all you do is go, apply and work. It's also NOT like other freelance sites where you have to compete for work, its a first come first serve basis job pool. The people there are awesome and the community is great, because it is customer driven and if a customer gets a bad article written then they probably won't want to come back, so they work with you to edit your work and the tutorials on the forum is great. It is a MUST if you are a decent writer that can follow instructions well. (Check out my photos in my profile for payment proof. Yes it is old but because of personal reasons I really haven't been doing ANYTHING online at all.)
Also at textbroker, they have a really awesome system where every so often you are evaluated and if they think you're writing skills have increased they will give you another star, meaning you can make more money and have access to more articles to write. Most people are start out at three stars, from what I have found out. Just like myself.
Okay another one that is awesome and again DOES NOT DO referrals or anything like that is mturk. It is ran by amazon.com and you do silly little jobs that takes seconds or a few minutes and they pay you pennies (go check out my profile pics for a screen of my personal account page) and you can have the money moved directly to your personal bank or spend it right there on amazon.com, which is what I usually do. I love doing the penny jobs over there because they are usually so fast and easy to do that you can get a lot of them done in a short amount of time and make $2 and some change like I did.
If you have any questions about either site let me know and I will be glad to help
I just really wanted to share those with you because there are still so many people out there looking for work, and both of these sites are tried and true, and real are/backed/owned by real big business.

I have looked at your suggestions. Yet, there are some problem with both of them.
First, Mturk is only using gift card to pay international workers, where it is just equal to paying nothing. If you are living far from US (say, Asia), the shipping fee for goods are very high to buy things from Amazon.
And textbroker is not bad, but they are not paying really that well. Many sites that are paying upfront payment are actually paying similar amount as them, but they don't require users to submit an assessment article beforehand.
Last but not least, having no referral program may make us feel that you are sincere in suggesting sites to us, but this is simply not attracting to those who want to make money online. Also, I believe if you are actually answering what your referral is asking for, what's wrong with referring the others?

My problem with referral sites is that you need referrals to make any substantial income, on most sites, and frankly I do not like relying on others to work, or get referrals so that I can get paid. I like relying on my own skills and work so that way I know what I get I earn. But that is just me.
About Mturk, granted shipping probably is high, but they also have digital media that you can purchase (music, ebooks and stuff) that there is no shipping involved so you can basically get free music, and stuff.
I do apologize that I am not familiar with their terms for paying other countries but the direct deposits is kind of new, so maybe they changed it for the entire world to.

I think I am too lazy for residual income stuffs. I had a hub page and I never got any hits and I didn't know what to put up there, I also looked at squidoo for the same reason, but again I had problems getting traffic/ I didn't know what to post. I will check out intenseconds though, I do really enjoy writing.

No problem! Wow ten a day! That's awesome, normally I only have like 20 or 30 minutes a day but I normally get a couple of dollars in that time, or at least one dollar, so I really do enjoy it.

I think it is really worth it. The articles are usually really easy to write and they pay at over two dollars (normally) per article so you can write quite a few in a little amount of time, thus making more money per hour than a lot of other sites I've seen out there. Also this site is very well ran, and if you write a lot they actually help you improve your writing skills so that you can move on to bigger and better projects, thus making more money.
