Have you ever been scammed?

Have you every been the victim of a scam online or offline? I have been and nothing was done for me. I bought some lady bugs online from this company and apparently they were going out of business but the guy running the site left the site up and kept taking orders yet he never shipped the orders out. Basically a bunch of people never got their money back and never got their orders. He put contact info up for a lawyer to contact to get a refund and the lawyer was contacting everyone saying she did not work for him and could not get anyone a refund. So basically all we got was the run around and I didn't get my money back.
Have you ever gotten scammed?

Unfortunately yes. A couple of times from sellers on ebay. Items mysteriously getting lost in the post. The seller initially denying that the items were returned, and no way of proving that the post was lost.
You can't prove anything, and the seller eventually simply not replying to mail. Reporting it does little to help, since there is no proof of wrong doing.
