Love to Sing, Hate to Perform

I have been singing as long as I could talk, and have always gotten positive feedback about my voice. Yet, somehow I hate to perform. First of all, I do not have very much confidence in my abilities. Second of all, although I am usually a pistol, I have serious stage fright. Third of all, I wouldn't want to ruin my passion by trying to turn it into work. Is that ridiculous? Am I the only one who feels this way?

Ever considered having a youtube account? You won't need to "perform" as much and it's not like you're singing on stage or anything. I kinda get you though. Not all performers are great singers anyway.
