I just seen in a commercial about nickledeon's avatar the legend of Ang, it's actually about the last airbender now showing in cinemas. I want to know why the title was named avatar?
Obviously avatar and airbender the movie are different.

Hello dianaje, well avatar the last air bender is an anime show. Now, on cinemas, they created a movie based the anime show "The last airbender". Avatar is the name of the main character. They changed the movies name to The last air bender so there wouldnt be misunderstanding between those 2 movies. Cheers and happy myLotting !

As to not to confuse the Avatar The last Airbender movie from the other Avatar titled movie directed by James Cameron, they decided to drop Avatar and just remain The Last Airbender.

In the series and the movie, avatar is what they call that being who can bend all four elements. I love this series. It's a great mix of funny and all out action animation. That's a lot of credits to the producers of Avatar.
