How would we know if it is just a "Trial" or already a "Sign"?

In achieving our goals we should expect obstacles that will come our way. And sometimes this obstacles convey messages, such as a "Sign" for us to stop or take it just a "Trial" in achieving our goal.

Hi Mai,
I don't understand why do you want to differentiate between 'signs' and 'trials'? Your ultimate aim is to reach your goal and the obstacle is in your way so there are only two things which can happen.
1. You get rid of the obstacle.
2. The obstacle gets rid of you ( or, you do not reach your goal).
Best wishes so that it is the former

Hi serubha1,
I need to differentiate those things because for me "trials" are motivating factors in aiming my goal while "Signs" on the otherhand are messages that sometimes we need to analyze, it can convey that the goal you are aiming is not for you and try other things that is best suited for you. Its just like "Trials" are Green signals and "Signs" are Red signals.

Hello Mai, Well-I don't know. If I had been in your position, then if I had come across a highly motivated sign (something like a blast-ended-skrewt, which HP and CD finished off in the maze-did I get the spelling right?), then the results of my analysis of the "sign' will probably be that this goal is not for me.
Seriously Mai, lets assume that the journey to each goal takes 2 years, then the probability of encountering signs is bout 50%. So-if you come across 5 trials in a row, which is statistically possible, you lose 10 years of your life with no result.
I feel that you should have an absolute goal which may perhaps be slightly modified but it cannot be changed. Nothing ventured nothing gained!!
Please don't misunderstand me as my post appears to be in a lighter vein considering the seriousness of the subject. I take everything seriously but most of my compositions end up being written this way. Please do not think that I am belittling your problems. Its me -I've got a weird sense of humor!!

I would not take any obstacle as a sign for us to STOP what we are doing, mainly because God never did ask us to stop. He wants us to persists... even in prayers, when we ask of him anything we want in life, if this is according to his will - we shall achieve it.. in due time, with our persistence.
So whenever there are road blocks, step back and find a new way to get to your dreams, it may just be that you need to go through other small roads, before you can reach your destination/goal. do not let it hinder you - and use it to strengthen you even more.

I really don't believe in sign because most if not all successful entrepreneur failed at one time. I think the owner of national bookstore in the past their store is burned to the ground and that could have been a sign to stop but they continue. i think the only sign that i could accept is deteriorating health. Its okay to work hard but not on the expense of you getting seriously ill. The idea of success is for you to enjoy the fruits of your labor, but its not also a reason to stop just slow down rethink of other ways so that your health will not suffer other than that don't let anything stop you.

I believe that there are no such things as "signs". Things happen because they were meant to be. It is always dependent on how we react to a cxertain situation. Whatever and wherever we are now are the results of what we did in the past. I don't ask God to give me any sign on what I should do. I just do what I have to do and I am sure everything will come into their right places. Trials on the otherhand are challenges we have to face everyday. That is what we do and that is what we were meant to do. At the day, just do what you have to do, do what you think is good for you and your fellowmen and I am sure everything will be all right for you.

hi mai!
once we've surmount our trials, we bacame a stronger and better person (hopefully).. while signs on the other hand, has the tendency of making us into a skeptic where we question our acts or decisions just because of some events/happenings that we perceive as signs thus, we sometimes waver in our decisions.. so i guess, it would do us good if we take obstacles as trials rather than signs.. happy lotting!
