I have to admit, the idea freaks me out, but I've signed up to be an organ donor anyway because I think it's the right thing to do. If someone needs something that I don't anymore, they should have it.

oh LOL. okay, so here goes. I would like to donate my eyes. Just that. Because we have a family history on being diabetic. So I am not sure if my other body parts would be healthy. I am proud of my 20-20 vision so I guess my eyes could be really helpful. But I'll see about it when I get old. For I'll never know what will be good when I get old.

Hi abj, there are different types of eye operations. What you possibly are referring to is cornea. But even then, I do need to inform you that by the time you'll be that old, there will be new technologies, more specifically stem cells related technologies, that will make such donations unnecessary.
Here is what stem cells do. You pick the stem cell of the person needing the eye transplant. Then you prepare a framework of the person's eye using nanotechnology. Now, you grow the selected stem cell on this structure in a culture medium that allows the stem cells to evolve into an eye. Advantage? no organ rejection, or chances of operation failing. No need ot wait for the donor, and not expensive either. This is still not perfect, but by the time you reach that age, this will be.
In the meanwhile, dont donate organs. Sell them to rich, and offer the money to the poor. That is better way. :)

yes I definitely will become an organ donor. Its only right that if my organs are fine and healthy when I die that they be given to somebody who really needs them. Regarding becoming a donor, Im sure if you went to your local hospital and talked to someone there they would tell you what you would need to do.
