Migrants here, migrants there. There are many skilled and professional people aspiring for greener pasture these days. It's a brain gain for those target destination but what about to the rest? It's a brain drain. I remember I had read or heard from somewhere about how can a country be of it's best if the best people are migrating?
There will be no more ideal leaders who can run the country well. Actually, I think it makes sense.

I am sure if the incentives are good, the professionals will not run away from their country but would serve their country as patriotic citizens. But if the country's administration is not systematic and politically unstable, these professionals would go where their services are welcomed and promises bright future not only for their careers but the living condition is far better off from where they come from. Brain drain has always been a problem facing every developing nation as students they send overseas in the hope of coming back to help in the nation building refuses to come back upon graduation. They stay back to work in the foreign countries leaving their country that sponsored them to acquire knowledge thus the government is losing their expertise.

Very touchy discussion, it is! But they are not thinking as so you think. Just think a person got offer to other country for migration or PhD or Good job. On the time he/she only lay on the dream or achievement and go on the gear. After a passing time being he/she feel better on there.
Now the point comes country's lost or loss! Some are saying it's very good for remittance on economic benefit. But the return of money is not long lasting when he/she migrant or PR they stop to sending money on their native land. Then the country starts brain drain.
I seem it's good just go abroad to learn or earn and back for doing better in the native land. Be happy Be Love Country on selfless eagerness.

Well for me i think there will be no migrants if and only if the government are giving full plan and support to the local job opportunity that will generate a competitive salaries. And also our government must convince investor to invest here in our country so that more job opportunities available to our professionals who always aspire to have a descent job here in our country.

hey hushi,
Brain Drain is a problem of many countries especially the eastern ones.
However, I believe that is a better situation for the world that people can migrate to other countries where they can find an environment that is more suitable for them and their work. Otherwise, the world would have been a place without many things - inventions and discoveries - happening.
True that the brain drain leaves the country in more bad shape than it is currently in, but without this, many people are benefited. It is high time that the Governments of these countries started thinking about the ill effects of the Brain drain and did something to reduce it. (but I personally believe that the Governments of such countries are just for their own selves and have never thought about the people. Even I stay in one such country!)
