I have some items on ebay but unfortunately, they are not selling. Does anyone have any idea how I am going to sell them on ebay? They are mostly small household items and quite pretty and useful but I only get watchers but no biddings. Someone please help!

hello, i am an active ebay seller. What I normally do is search the item i have to sell and see if they are similar items on ebay that is already listed. If so you need to have competitive prices. they are probaly watching it to see if the price will go down. Some people watch it to wait to the end so they can get a good price on it so they wait to bid. but those same people forget that they are watching it and the item ends before they could get a chance to bid. happened to me before. so just look for the similar item, find a better price to sell. oh and by the by, most pouplar items are electronics, shoes, handbags things of that sort by a very popular designer like umm lets say sperrys (the shoes) ok, hope this helps.

Hi Keshia, Thanks for the tip. I did look for other similar items, but there was not much to compare with. Could be that the P & p were a little more though and that might account for it.

I am sure most people are busy with other things than Ebay, like someone also mentioned already, so that could be a big reason. Also, make sure that your titles for the auctions are good, since this is what people see. So don't write just 'Coffee-mug', as the title of your auction, write 'New fantastic coffee-mug, limited edition (if it is), great design', stuff like that. Also make sure the description mentions everything you can possibly think of to sell the item. These things matter, because if your titles and descriptions are bad, and you are not selling something completely unique, the customer will get it from someone else instead!

I think this time of the year is slow and people won't buy until it gets closer to the holidays. You might try to list them again in about 3 months to see what happens. People seem to bargain hunt the closer we get to Christmas.

Ebay is always slow this time of year. It's summer in the U.S., people are busy doing things outside. The best time to list is November up until Christmas. Then it slows again until the middle of January.

I'm new to eBay and your reply has helped me a lot. Thank you. I did not realize that the seasons will effect selling so much!

Just to add to what others have said, timing is very important. Take care at what time you list your items. You don't want them ending at say, 9 o' clock Monday morning morning when most are going to be at work or holidays when people are going to be away. Good luck with your ebay sales

I usually research similar items before placing my auction. This way I can see if the item is prices accordingly and if it will get a bid or two. If the market is over saturated and the demand is low then I know to hold off.
