The character of smiggle at the lord of the rings movie really puzzled me. He seems to have a lot of identity, Is he part of the villains?

I think you mean Smeagol (pronounced 'smee-a-gol' or 'smea[r]-gol'). Smeagol was his real name but he came to be known as 'Gollum' after the sound he made in his throat. He was, it is suggested, originally a Hobbit (or, at least, one of the Holbytla race) who long ago found the Ring and was gradually changed by it into the creature who was found by Bilbo (as told in the book 'The Hobbit') and from whom Bilbo 'stole' the ring by guessing the riddles that Gollum posed. The Lord of the Rings trilogy is not really complete without an understanding of the story of Bilbo as related in 'The Hobbit' and, although the movie was a very moving and 'accurate' (to afficionados) rendering of the book, it still left out many important things. You can only really appreciate the story by reading, first, 'The Hobbit' and then the 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy (augmented, perhaps by the separate books 'Farmer Giles of Ham' and 'The Adventures of Tom Bombadil' and certainly one should not forget the 'Silmarilion' as background reading, though not essential to the story).

Smeagol/Gollum is not so much as villain as a victim. Frodo was disgusted and repelled by him but, at least in one passage, showed compassion for him.

As he end up as a bad guy I think he is a part of the villains, but he had a good part in him. If he didn't think Frodo breailed him I think he might come around. He was so tired for spending 500 years alone, and he respected the Hobbit. But them he didn't have meaning to fight against evil anymore cause he was back to being alone again, plus his love for the Ring was amazing.

Smeagle, also known as Gollum, possessed The Ring for many years. Its power was so great, it warped him to the point where he rarely thought about anything else. That is why he followed the hobbits all the way. It was to find a way to steal The Ring.
