I am currently wondering if I should try some of the quote healthier cat food options for my cats. I am wondering if that would be better for my cats. And if it would be better which brand is the best to feed my kitties? What brands do you use and what is your experience with different cat foods?

I feed the horde Purina One - hairball - not organic, but it was never among the recalls either

Purina is good. I used to feed my the natural one and might go back to it seems Ashley did better on that food. I am now buying meow mix because that is what Freddie and Carlye like.

I don't care what the cats want, I feed them the healthiest food I can afford - and Meow Mix is little better than junk food for cats

I buy a Royal Canin premium food for my dogs. I figure Canada makes better food than America. The cats get Blue Bag. It's a super cheep food sold in a 40 pound blue sack. It doesn't have food coloring, and is low on corn. My cats do fine on it. It's the food of choice for folks with multiple cats around here. I would love to cook for my pets, but I can't afford it.

There are so many carbs in cat food. And cats really don't need any, a low corn cat food would be good. It is so hard to find affordable good food for cats. Thanks for your insight.

After the big scare with melamine poisoning pets, I started making my own cat food; but, it was messy, time consuming, and sometimes it was hard to get all the necessary ingrediants. I did a lot of research and finally settled on a company called "Blue Buffalo". Their food does not use any of the cheap grain based protein that was being contaminated; and, their prices were the same or better than other companies with the same claims. My cats are doing well and I don't have to worry about recalls because of the quality and types of ingrediants they use.

I don't think I would want to make my own food especially enough for three cats. It would be too time consuming and probably expensive. I might check out blue buffalo though. Thanks for telling me about it.
