Tips and time of healing for a broken bone

I recently shattered my fibula by falling off some stairs. Now I have it in a boot. What I was curious about was (if you went through this): (1) in how much time did it heal for you? (2) any tips on how to help the healing process occur faster? Thanks!

i broke a bone in my foot falling down stairs and it took me a good 6 weeks before i got back to normal. sadly though, i rebroke it shortly after it was healed. i triped over a carpet. (my foot was not casted)
