When there is a conflict in your beloved sport, which side are you on, the players or the owners? Me? I am always with the player or players. they only have a brief time to make the huge amount of money. And I rather the owners pay them to win , than the wise guys pay them to throw games. When there is a strike it is the players who lose that time. The owners lose money and perhaps some fans along the way. Your thoughs

They both make way too much money for the amount of work they do. I remember hearing a quote from a baseball player in which he said something like this" " People think that we make millions of dollars a year, but, what they don't realize is that most of us *only* make 500,000 dollars a year". ONLY, that is more than a family doctor makes, and doctors help people, not entertain them.

But there is money in entertainment , not in health care sadly. The players are the ones who are putting their bodies on the line , so they better get paid well. And if the owners don't want to pay them to win , others will pay them to throw games.

Bodies on the line? From what? Getting hit by a baseball or hockey-puck, getting tackled, throwing out their elbow from over-swinging a golf club? Soldiers get paid basically pocket change compared to them, and they put their bodies on the line dodging bullets and hand grenades. I just don't see the point in sports, especially professional leveled ones.

The soldiers are keeping us safe So we can watch sports. I agree they should be paid more than any pro player. But that isn't the point. the point is , there is A fortune to be made from pro sports and I side with the people who actually do the sport opposed to the suits that own the teams.

I am with the players. I have seen strikes in all of the major sports! I have seen 3 in the NFL (my favorite sport),one in the NBA,two in ML baseball, and the NHL has seen two! One wiped out a whole season!
I know some of the players selfish and want more money then they are worth. I also know alot of owners who are greedy and selfish, too! I don't like alot of owners in pro sports! Thank goodness my team the Packers are owned by tons of share holders who are mostly from Wisconsin! Most of the owners are million or billionaires.
So when a strike happens the fans lose out on the most! Believe me I know! It gets quite boring without pro sports on tv to watch and to hear updates on the news!
I hope the NFL will avoid a strike in 2011! They have time to do it! A sunday in fall without the Packers sucks!
