Windows xp SP2 support ends last July 13. Users with XP SP2 installed must update to XP SP3 to receive continuous support from Microsoft. Windows XP SP3 support will end on April 2014. End of support means that Microsoft will not release patches and updates for Windows XP SP2 but you can still use the software. Only that you will not receive any updates and support from them.

Hi chaijudin!
Maybe you are performing an UPGRADE installation and the Windows XP installer you are using has older version than the one currently installed on your system.
Please check this link for a step by step procedure on how to perform clean installation of Windows XP.

It is important to note that you must backup your important data before you proceed.
Hope this helps.

Do a full format for all your local drives (caution all your data will be destroyed) or do format your C drive alone (or whatever drive where you have installed the Windows XP Previously). and then try to install using the CD you have got. If you cannot comprehend this completely then comment me.
