I'd like to introduce a friend here. Catalady joined today and she's keen to do well on here. I hope everyone makes her feel as welcome as I was made to feel when I joined. She's very chatty and has a great sense of humour so I'm sure she'll fit in well Do you think it's best to introduce people or are you one of those who just lets people introduce themselves? Just curious

Just tell Catalady to start a discussion or have her answer one even though she is not a friend yet. Once she does that, and starts to invite people to be her friend, she will do well. I do not like people introducing others. I feel that one is best to start going into the waters head first as it were and get their feet wet doing a flip over dive. That is what I did. I will check out and see what she is like and find out if she started a discussion yet.

I assume she is a cat lover by her alias. It would help if I could put her name in the search discussions to find if she started or answered a discussion.

Yes she loves cats and most other animals. She's responded on here, I think it's response number 10.

Hello Suspenseful. I just thought it would help, that's all. I'm sure she'll settle in and at the end of the day an introduction doesn't do anyone any harm.

Well please tell her I said welcome!
When I was younger I let people do it themselves because I was very shy, I am still very shy now but I decided that it was the right thing to do so now I do it. Seems more polite and right to introduce people so I do that now even if I am shy as anything!

Hello MrDollars. I was quite shy too when I was younger but I meet the public a lot with my job so I have no time to be shy now. I always like to introduce people, like you say it's the right thing to do and it stops people from feeling awkward.

I feel like I should make my own response here and thank everyone for making me feel so welcome already...and a big thanks to Autumn for posting the original discussion and helping to smooth my path. Please do call me cat, most people do...it's a lot easier than catalady! As Autumn said I love a good discussion and an intelligent debate so I hope to interact with many of you in the near future, I already have some ideas to start new discussions off and will launch my own discussions very soon. Thanks all, cat

I make introductions in real life, but sometimes my husband forgets to and he is standing there talking to people I have no idea who and then suddenly he'll say, "Oh and this is my wife...etc.."

Hi AutumnGold,
I think that was very nice of you to introduce Catalady. I too, hope she will feel welcomed here. It really is a good site to participate on, with just a few hitches, not major.
I like to introduce my friends to other people, especially if they are very dear friends. I say nice things about them that they would not be willing to share, because they would feel embarassed to say.
Again, welcome to Catalady, I will be on the lookout for her moving throughout Mylot. I wish her much success here.

We warmly welcome your friend to the world of people who are nice, educated and who are interestingly conversational. This is like a family, and we treat each other so well, she won't feel strange. Catalady is a good nick by the way, I'm sure she will get accompanied nicely.

Welcome to Catalady.
I often forgot to introduce a friend when I was meeting another friend in a hurry, until this friends asked: Introduce your friend, Jenny.
Oh, so rude of me.
In a happy or holiday mood, I am a gay person, I introduce my friends and I introduce myself to some new people.

I do like introducing friends. I always introduce all my friends when ever they meet with my new friends. It really helps in built confident in our selves. And also we come to know more people, which we haven't meet before. So here we could also improve our commutating skill and gain lots of experience.
