About medical tourism, I heard people discuss about it a lot lately. Some people who live in San Diego, or Los Angeles, might cross the border to Mexico to seek cheaper medical help, like surgery. Most popular among these people might seeking for cheaper dentistry. Some people might even go to South America. But I am not sure about their medical treatment condition though. In Europe, especially western europe, people might go to Budapest, or Hungary seeking for cheaper medical treatment and dentistry too. Some of my friends who also from Asian countries, might go back to their home country, such as China, or Korea to seek cheaper medical treatment. What about, do you ever thought about get medical treatment or dentistry in a foreign country for cheaper price, as our health care and other medical cost is in rising.

With the current economy, I think everybody seeks for that. But you got to keep in mind something, here it costs "500$" and the service is great, there it costs "100$" but it's not that good, will it be so hard to give more 400 bucks? (In europe we have euros , so yeah :p) you have to think about the price of the trip. If the operation is cheaper but everything (trip, food) costs more than the operation in ur country, again, useless.

Go to medicaltourism.com and you might find some recommended institution or facility that people used before and their reviews on it. You can see what their comments.

Sometimes I think it could be a good idea, but you have to research the medical care where you are going very carefully. Another countries standards about medical safety or effectiveness might not be as good as where you live, so while you might pay less, you will get bad service and maybe even harm your health. One thing I heard about while I was in Costa Rica a few years ago was how good the dental care there is. For some reason Costa Rica was well known for their excellent training of dental professionals and I heard that many people traveled there for dental procedures. One girl in our travel group even decided to get some teeth whitening while she was there and she was very impressed and didn't pay very much. That was the best part; the dental procedures were so well done and yet they were extremely cheap! In cases like this, I'd say traveling for medical care is good, but you really have to be careful and make sure you know what you're getting into.

I don't know. I am used to Western standards of medical care, and I would be worried that the standards in other countries would not be as good. So I don't think it is for me, to be honest. I completely understand those who do it though!
