Why Have you become Choosy with "Discussions"

Hello Lotters,
i don't know if newbies are doing this too, sometimes i see one or two once a month doing this, but different people and not the same.
This is a stage that's been happening to every mylotter as he/she stays longer in mylot. the number of post that you usually do is actually lessened. i don't know what happened to me, but it was good when i was still in fire posting 50 post a day. so good that my computer didn't take it too well.
I am not sure why this is happening to us,am sure it does to you. worst part is that i can't even respond to all of my friends discussions, even though it's one of the best there is. i think I've gone slow as time goes by.
I am guilty of this.

Hello Hatley,
oh,yeah. there was a lot of mylotters before who really like to create a lot of discussions but i wasn't able to answer all of them because some are really not in my interest. even today, lot are making new topics that even i can't penetrate or respond ASAP.

Hello grayxenon,
that's good to know that you know you're place of interest. sometimes i wonder what has happened to me those times. when i used to be fast in responding.

That's a good point, grayxenon. It's not good to respond to a discussion if you have nothing to say. Real bad. Participate only if you know you have something to say.

hi letran I have learned the hard way to stay away from discussions from one poster who made a new one every five minutes and of course he could as they were all just one line. four of them were deleted that I might have responded to. we are all getting a bit wiser as what is going to get deleted as sure as God made little green apples. I used to just try to respond to as many of my friends as I could but so m any are being deleted
now days.

Yep. Hatley is right. It's a waste of time to comment on discussions that you know would be erased eventually. I also think that it is better to refrain from discussions that you are not interested in than to give a nonsense response. So 80% of the time that I'm logged in myLot, I spend by reading and picking discussiond to respond to. It is quite tedious, but I enjoy it.

I think it happens when you’ve been here a while. There is nothing wrong with taking more care as to which discussions you want to respond to. Sometimes you might find that you are in need of a break from here or it could very well be that the quality of the discussions has dropped a bit. Take some rest...

Hello Paula,
Yeah, that's totally correct. not to mention i've always been here, even at the times where my pc was crashed, i would go there and respond to some discussions or comment on responses. i never take off my eyes into this site. i got so used to it that i responded with out looking at my keyboad.

For me, I think is because the motivation diverts.
Initially when I started myLot, I was keen and eager to reach my first payout. Thus, in the event of doing that, I ended up with responses not 100% tally with the discussions or discussion answered purely based on what was asked (where the replies doesn't leave much room for further discussion).
When I finally reached my first payout and verified that I got paid, I was happy but that's it. I reached my objective and that's when my motivation changed/diverts.
Rather than replying for the sake of replying to reach payout, I was more energetic in finding the discussion which will motivates me to share my thoughts or opinion. Thus, I am guilty of being "choosy" but because I have something to share rather than just throwing replies in discussions.

Hello warvial,
that's true, sometimes it would give misinterpretation if we respond to topics that are sensitive and then write something that is far off the topic, angering the topic starter. i have reached more than enough in enough for the past few months. i guess i wanted more that i kept being active.am guilty as well, but what can we do, not easy to respond everyday.

Yes, it's difficult to maintain my replying "power" daily as well.
Another point that used to be part of the reason why I am choosy in replying is the fear of having my response deleted because it violates myLot's rule.
But now, I already gave up that thought. It's tedious for me trying to find a discussion which interests me and give me the motivation to reply. Thus, I don't want any other things to stop me from replying.

Hello mspitot,
well, that's my case now. even though i don't have a job, the problem is that i tend to have more housework and also my small business is asking for more time i think. at least in you're case, i can understand that.

every person has his/her own interests, only some subjects touch him/her or the similar sutiation he/she ever met or he/she just think this topic is very interesting and is worth discussing with that , that syptom do exist on almost people not only the newbie or the oldbie
sometimes people register these website ,their aim is not to earn money quickly but make find something useful or share some skill they have gained

well, the usual skill earned here is when you type fast...so fast that you won't be able to look at your key board anymore. that's the thing i learned for being in mylot for a long time.

How I wish I can relate to the many discussions here so I can be a favor to many but my intellectual strength is so limited and I can only grasp few which I think is within my knowledge. It is not being choosy but it all boils down to my capabilities. When it means pennies who wouldn't want to earn as much as possible and being choosy is out of the question.

same here, i mean it's not easy to say things that you want when you think there's nothing else to tell any more.come to think of it, maybe i really don't have the strength to make many more responses just like i used to.

Well, we all go through it one way or another, sooner or later. It happens to any interest that we get to have our attention to. We can't always be active in doing things that we were so active before. Perhaps we end up doing other things as they take much of our attention.
When it comes to this site, we also grow and develop our own taste and preferences. Before, we might just keep on participating on any discussion that we get interested in. Then, as time goes on, we some how see similar discussions that are not exactly the same with the ones that we have participated before but, somehow duplicates a discussion that we have already posted a comment on. It would be a hassle to go back to the previous discussion, retrieve the post that we posted there and simply post it again on the similar discussion that we have recently found.
Of course, that's not always the case. We just end up not liking discussions. Perhaps the title just didn't catch our attention, maybe after reading the initial post, we lose our interest in participating due to grammar issues, wrong use of words if not bad spelling, or the ideas are not that clear.
Anyway, that's just an idea.. I too have fallen to this state. (¬_¬)

Its really annoying indeed when we can't find interesting topics anymore to participate in. Sometimes, I think it would nice if we could just start our own discussions and hope that everyone would participate in them but, I would then again have issues with posts in my discussions that would have identical opinions. I guess I am just making excuses on being lazy. That's why I would really prefer to just participate in other discussions and hope that the one who started it or anyone who is interested in interacting to my comment would post their reactions.
Perhaps its just a phase and it would eventually pass by and come again when it does.

Hello ratyz,
distractions? come to think of it, maybe this has been happening to me. last night instead of commenting to this discussion, I was fed up watching youtube movies that i tend to go back to mylot every ten minutes. And when ever i go back to this site, that's when i started feeling sleepy all of a sudden. but i agree with you that on some point we end up disliking the topic, and i hate it when that happens. thanks.

as of now i can not log in at mylot everyday, i am quite busy with errands and relatives. my mother in law is here with us for she had a mild stroke a few weeks before. she is mostly alone at her house at cavite so my wife bring her here so we can monitor her. i always open my email first so i can respond on discussions that my friends started. then if i still have time i will go around mylot, if not then i will just log out. so there are times that i am fast and there are times that i am slow.

Hello seven,
it seems you are very busy with family. hows the one with the stroke? is that person going to be fine? family matters are important, i hope that in law of yours gets well soon.
you know i did look into my email yesterday and the discussions are number by thousands, probably because i couldn't respond to all of them as i have lazy habit of erasing email files

Well, we have no obligation to answer every single discussion that is started. I'm not gonna lie, some discussions just do NOT catch my interest, and therefore I can't really contribute anything thoughtful or original to the discussion. So I am definitely pick-and-choosy, but it's for a good reason I would hope. I used to also fire off 50 or 100 posts a day, and now I'm finding less and less time to do so, and less and less interest. Probably because I'm working on ChaCha now instead. My MyLot experience has definitely been slowing down for the past year or so too, not like in the beginning, when everything was fresh and new and fun for me. Oh well, what can you do? Maybe someday we'll find the motivation to fire off 50-100 posts a day again, but if not, oh well!

Hello Maezee,
wow, you too?! i can't even make twenty unless the topics are really that good. it's not the same anymore i guess, most specially for oldies like us. mylot is still fun for me too but not as active and strong as i used to be. for now, am trying hard to motivate myself into participating to more discussions.maybe some day. thanks for coming by my thread.

I have slowed down postingt too, as I just don't do as much as I did, as I have other things to do as well, and other sites. I am not here for the money anyway, so it is okay. I am here more for fun and sharing with others. I have found that most of the discussions aren't all that interesting so I just skip them. I need to respond to my friends discussions as well, as I can find a lot there, at least for the most part anyway. I am happy to be here though, and I will always be here, but I just won't do as much. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

I've answered a similar post and will always stand by to what I said.
Mylot didn't force us to answer any discussions that has been posted - or else we will be restless if we did. LOL.
Just like the other response here, I only respond to the discussions where I know I can participate, relate or be of help to.
So don't feel guilty about it, LK. If you did answer all the post here and you didn't feel like you have to - it's like taking your free will right out of you.

Hello totally pretty undecided
thanks a lot for that response. i wouldn't write this unless i feel it this way.well, i guess choosing topics that i know i can respond isn't such a bad thing after all. you're right as well, there wouldn't be free speech if i respond to topics that i dont' really want to. so lucky not brainwashed and thank you.

I am guilty too, recently I lost time with Mylot as I am busy on some other sites, but from time to time I join my friends like you that have a discussion here. You, my friends are my priority everytime I visit here.I check on the notifications if ever I received on email. However, some discussion my friends started, is i either have no interest to respond because of having no knowledge in regard or I totally do not know what they are trying to share. This reason answer that question that I am not choosy, i honestly do not have a knowledge regarding those discussions.

Hello grecy,
that's probably one of my reasons why i couldn't respond or comment as fast as i used to be, because of time. i also go and check my friends topics but some of them are days old, despite of that, i still reply to those discussions, maybe comment some of the other responders besides my self.

LetranKnight25,
Can the lack of response solely to be blamed on the decisions of members?
I don't think so, because I just feel that it is the originator's doing that is equally responsible. I mean how can one expect non fellow countrymen to respond to a political issue of the poster's country issues? Or, men responding to discussions meant for women or retrospectively?
Besides, of late there are posts that are hanging by a thin thread for violating the guidelines here in myLot. So, I do not think the choices and decisions are to be blamed here. People are just being more discerning for themselves and for the discussions as a whole.
So, to each and his/her own. Take care and have a nice day.

Hello skysuccess,
you right..as usual. some of the discussions i have replied to the newbies had been erased due to violation of the discussion and most of the time, am not aware of it.there are discussions that i really couldn't respond because it's only it's for gay or feminine but because i couldn't relate to it. and just like now, my eyes are closing down on me again.thanks a lot.

The main reason reason i can think of is a newbie (majority of them) stumble upon this site in their quest to earn online. Well, that's how it was for me then. Although, i have no doubt that this site pays, i had that feeling of excitement to reach my first 10 dollars. The only way i can reach that is to post more. A newbie normally has a lot in his mind thus the number of discussions started. As go long along and stay with this site longer, you just feel that you already posted all your concerns and posting it again just for the sake of starting a discussion seems like a joke (at least for me) and it's not everyday that you can think of more than 10 topics to start a discussions. That's as far as myself is concerned because there are still members here (thanks to them) that seems to never run out of discussions on the other hand veterans are just here (like piranhas ) waiting for something to post on. But i must say that veterans are like piranhas with a taste, because if the topic is not good they will just ignore it. Well this is how i'm feeling and does not reflect other members own opinion.

Hello Ybong,
As i recall back then, starting a discussion before was considered a post, even with out response, that's why a lot had abused this and keep making discussions doesn't give a damn whether a person replies to it or not, now that has changed.
well, I am more like a computer who is more than a decade old, that couldn't think much than i can think now, that's why it takes me time now to respond. well, you seemed to be a pretty good responder yourself. I, on the other tries to make new topics again.

I'm a bit choosy to respond posts especially if I think some mylotters just wanted to earn money and submit senseless thoughts.. I don't know it was just my observation. I really admire my friends here who can posts discussions more than 5o and responded to 90 discussions...
I am envious because they can do that and I couldn't. I have a lot of things to do. But I enjoy very much my stay here in mylot.

Hello BabyEJ,
yeah, i noticed that too. sometimes i do it, but only when the topic is not in danger of getting deleted. i used to respond to fifty discussions a day but that's when the time ticks until late in the morning. it's hard because you're hand and eyes get's tired for it. No, i couldn't do that either, at least not anymore.
