Who would steal a trash can?

I was pretty sure the Garbage men took it but now I'm not so sure. We used to have a big, sturdy trash can. The kind you can fit about 6 bags of trash into. It was also easier to move around. Well, a while ago I heard the dump truck and then I heard a rumbling noise like trash can wheels make when they are being moved down a drive way or road. I peeked out because I thought that was odd since most of my neighbors have already left for work and there is no reason that they have to roll the can. In all the years that I've seen them come around our neighborhood they have always lifted the cans and dumped the contents into their truck and then set the can back down on the curb. In fact if its not at the curb when they come around they will not take it and no they will not go down your drive way to fetch it. I looked out the window wondering about all this and noticed our can was not sitting at the curb where it should have been. Where it had been placed earlier. I was thinking to myself "Did the trash man take our can back by the garage? " That would have been odd too because they never do that kind of thing and as far as I know they don't have time to. I went out side to look and see that our lovely trash can is gone. NO where to be found. So either the garbage men took it or one of the neighbors did though I wonder why they would wait for all those years that we've had the thing to do it. We have just recently had a new neighbor move in though, I just wonder who does stuff like that. That was not a cheap trash can either. If I find out I'm going to stuff them in the can.

A person that needed one :P...but seriously all you can do is keep an eye out for it or I guess you could confront the garbage men about it. Just ask them if they have taken your garbage can. If they did not take it, have them keep a look out for a similar garbage when they pick up the trash.

Sounds like a good idea. I'm kind of afraid to go up and speak to them though. They look kind of mean.

You might be surprised, looks can be deceiving. It would be worth a shot. If anything have someone confront them with you, like a friend or relative.
