PLEASE read the Guidelines and te FAQs and understand that NO-ONE except admin can answer your question. http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq6.aspx#14 We are told NOT to discuss the earnings aglorithm and for that reason this will be deleted. http://www.mylot.com/o/guidelines.aspx

Indeed those star posts get deleted too. We cannot determine from the FAQs or Guidelines that 200 words are worth more in terms of cents than 10 words would be because 'length' of posts is not mentioned, therefore IMO this touches the aglorithm. If typed words are what counts, how can we know that 10 posts of 20 words will not earn the same as 1 post of 200 words? We can't therefore it is best we do not attempt to try either right?

I beg to differ about your assertion that 'higher stars earn more', Mykl. I think that is actually NOT what it says in the FAQs at all but it would be OT to argue that here. Inasmuch as a descriptive introduction to a discussion is likely to require more words, it could be said that 'more words earn more' but, as we both know, it is the quality that counts and some of that, at least, depends on the opinions of other members (which is what it meant by the statement that the 'Discussion Rating System is factored into the earnings algorithm'). If most people cannot be fussed to read or respond to a 200 word discussion and rate it accordingly, it could, potentially, earn nothing at all, especially if the DO doesn't bother to comment on what responses are received!

Hello friend! See in myLot you earn money for typing. So, the longer your post the more you earn. So, 200+ words post surely increase your earning but if it contain illegal things and also repeated sentences, then I can't assure about the earning. Try to obey the FAQ and the Guideline strictly and don't haste to writing, then you will be just fine. Also please remember that creating poll type posts are abandon, so be aware. Enjoy your stay on myLot!

No, no and NO again! You do NOT earn for typing. MyLot rewards QUALITY. Being as descriptive as possible is, of course, part of quality and being descriptive is likely to involve more typing but it is quite wrong to think (or to tell newcomers) that you 'earn money for typing'!

@ owlwings and binggaling :- Oh.... I am extremely sorry that I forget to add the matter. I know that typing more wouldn't result good earning, I need to make it much informative and quality. Forgive me that I forget to add it in my response. By the way I have added the matter in a different discussion created by the same person though. Thank you for detecting my false. I appreciate your help very much!

What earns you money here is QUALITY! (How often has that been said before?) Provided that your discussion topic is as descriptive as possible (yet not so wordy or involved that people give up reading or miss the point), engages people and encourages them to post descriptive, relevant and original responses to which you can add similarly descriptive, relevant and original comments, then it's likely to be a 'good' discussion. There is no way of calculating how much any particular element of participation is 'worth' but quality does NOT depend on quantity. The more responses you get to a discussion, the more chance you have of posting good quality comments ... and that is what makes it a discussion and it's the ONLY way of earning anything further from it.

When my star dropped to silver I noticed a difference in earnings even though my posts were the same as always. May I add here that I find it atrocious and absurd that what we earn for our activity should be decided by others, especially when the majority are not using the DRS in the way it was intended

I think it is likely that you can earn extra if you write a long post. Because it seems that the length represents the quality. Mylot will pay for the quality posts. This is why the very short posts may not get paid. Sometimes I found my earning will be higher if my posts are longer. The quantity is not so important, the earning depends on the quality. I love China

me too nowadays think like that because i saw a guy who have written short story about his without a conclusion or any of its type. then he asking whether he did right or wrong. i was wondering why he wrote all those things for no reason. now i got to know why these guys write a full length story of its kind. None in this world hates money. right? So let him do in his way. Anyways thanks for the comments you all made especially YOULESS. with 16994 posts i think you are someone very important to mylot. Thanks once again.

I think the length and quality will automatically increase your earnings than any other short posts! You can once check the guidelines.
