Is this true?

I know this isn't like the other discussions I have posted but I heard this from somewhere and I was wondering if it's true or not. I heard that if a mosquito bites someone who has Aids, and then bites you you'll get Aids. I just got bit by a mosquito and I thought of this. To be honest, that scares me. Mosquito's love me, they bite me all the time. Do you think this is fact or a myth? I would think if it's true a lot more people would have aids, right? What do you think? Thoughts welcome =)

what you talk about is very terrible.but don't worry,i think it maybe like that. when a mosquito bits somebody who have aids and after a very short time(before the biood in mosquito's mouth is not disappear ),the mosquito than bits another people who have not aids, this people's blood maybe mix with blood of mosquito's mouth and than may be infected aids by blood. but as we known, the time that mosquito's mouth disappear is very very short, maybe 1s,maybe 2s,in so short time, the mosquito bits another people, the odds is very small.even is no possible.

I never heard such publish AIDS and HIV can be spread by mosquitoes bites. And the mosquitoes attracted to someone who have a faint smell of fruits. Try eat less fruits that emits scents. Also, if possible clear up your vases and flower pots as frequent as possible by changing water and remove water from it to avoid mosquitoes breeding. Mosquitoes does spread diseases like Aedes fever and Malaria. During the summer time, just try to clean up your area which might contain water which suitable for mosquitoes breeding.

Well, you can put in some mosquitoes larvae killer in the water every once in 3 days with adequate amount to kill them. Also a natural way is to have guppy fish inside your pool since the fishes will eat the mosquitoes larvae.

http://www.rci.rutgers.edu/~insects/aids.htm Here is a link that explains it very well, but read the whole thing. It gave three reasons why this is not true 1. mosquitoes digest the virus. 2.Mosquitoes do not get enough blood to transmit the virus. 3. Mosquitoes do not inject blood when they bite. I read more that said when a mosquito pulls its proboscis (long eating part) back in to its body, the blood is wiped off.

There are a lot of people who used to believe this, and the press did not do very much to help the situation. Just think about it, though, almost everyone you know would be infected if it were true.We all have been bitten by mosquitoes. Now there are other things you can get from them, but it is still fairly rare.

Thanks for your response =) Thanks for your help! I'm so glad it's not true. Some people need to find better things to do than to scare others.

I am not sure about the reality of this. But If the mosquito will bite you they often leave their pointed needle in your skin. That is why you get itchy on that particular part where the mosquito bites you. So in the end the mosquito can no longer bite any one else.

I don't think that they are "vectors" of the HIV virus. So far, I haven't heard cases of people getting AIDS because of a mosquito bite, or got transmitted my them. I think it's a myth, I think people are the carriers of these virus. Not sure though. =)

as what i have known mosquitoes are just a blood sucker.so if they bite a person with aids and then bite you after, the mosquito will not infect you, they will just ask an amount of blood from you.....can that answer alleviate your worries?

I've read somewhere that it would take 10 million mosquitos that are feeding on HIV blood to get you infected. Which means that it's not possible for mosquitos to transmit HIV to humans.

I'm sure this isn't true. I think I read somewhere that HIV will not survive outside the human body. So, I'm sure there is nothing to worry about. If it were true, then this would be something to discriminate all the people who already have the virus.

You dont have to worry. The virus can't survive inside the Mosquito's system. Since the virus is for Humans and Mammals (not for insects). Now just imagine if mosquito's have aids, and they can spread it to humans. That would be a global disaster =)

Don't worry! It's being proven that the HIV virus can't survive outside the human body. So even if the mosquito can get the infection from someone who have AIDS, there is no chance to transfer it to you :P
